I once used a netcafe in Malta to look at the days results...

Yep local TV's are always a good option, I also am happy to use the camera's lcd, I am only generally checking framing and for any specific shots. I know what the footage transfers to on a HD monitor so it really is just a case of making sure that the exposure / colour / and framing are correct. I will only have a quick srub through make sure the shots are there and you haven't done anyting silly, back it up, get the cam ready for the next day and then grab a beer
In fact a current Nat Geo job that I am on we are shooting with a varicam and we have no way of checking footage as we would need a deck / monitor etc. Scary but it makes you concentrate when shooting.
Thanks everyone for your help.
Looks like plugging in to a TV is the way to go. As you say Jonny, that leaves more time for relaxing!!!
See ya,
Jo
Note that the Vosonic specs say that it won't playback anything with bitrate above 4 Mb/s (and encoded in one of the few supported codecs)... That sort of rules out any decent quality HD camcorder playback!
Surely any Windows 7 tablet PC would work as long as it has a USB 2.0 host port and they seem to come in either 10 inch or 7 inch (Or am I missing something) and then use a video player like VLC.

The problem seems to be with the HD coding in the camera, you'd need to convert from AVCHD before it could be uploaded to the tablet....kinda defeats the purpose, as that would also mean taking the laptop.
HI
KISS... just take a composite lead and plug it into the TV.
