Woohoo! That blue finish looks great Todd - great coloUr choice! I'm surprised you didn't order yours white with a red maple leaf though...
Let us know how it handles and how you like it - can't wait to see more pix.
Cheers
James
It's killing me having it sitting on my desk. I knew I should not have opened it up!!
I have got to get diving soon. And, not the pool either!
The Red and White is very nice, the flag too of course but, I just had to be me and get it different.
Mines due tomorrow. I've been tracking it on FedEx for the last week, making it's way across the world. I know it's in Auckland somewhere now, they are just teasing me!
I've already planned a trip away this weekend for a test run....
Can't wait.
Is that the standard colour? Looks good..

Welcome to the wonderful world of dSLRs and Canon!! Looking forward to hearing how it all works out for you...
Tom
No, the Blue is a custom coloUr. The factory model is white with red.
I am pushing to have Aquatica call it "Yahsemtough Blue" ![]()
Hi Todd,
Mine arrived today, looks great.
Did you get a moisture alarm? If so what am I doing wrong. I just don't seem to be able to get the battery in to the unit??
Cheers

Nice colOr ![]()
Can any of you lucky folk with this housing tell me:
Which arms can/do you use? How do they attach? I want to attach a DS-125
Do any of you have the ICU model, or is that still not shipping?
Strobe cord? What type of connection on the bulkhead do I need?
What are the ergonomics like for shooting manual? Does it work in practice (I hate the film bodies without a second control wheel - I just know I'm going to hate the DigiReb!)
How about those buttons on the back - do you think the FEC hack will work ergonomically speaking? (I'm guessing it will work fine)
What ports have you all bought? And for which lenses?
Do any of you have a spare A300 housing? Can I have it?
I sort of live 1700km from the nearest 'major' population centre, so I don't get to play with all this sort of stuff before I buy it.

I use the TLC arms that Aquatica sells and they will work no problem. As for the 125 I assume they have an adapter.

I don't have the ICU yet as I wanted to wait for the Inon's to work first

Nikonos bulkhead on mine, dual ones.

Have not had time yet

8 inch dome and macro port with one extention ring for the Canon 100mm. 15mm fe Sigma, 50 mm Sigma and the kit lens

I'm not a software architect or engineer so i only have one, sorry.

I did not play with mine ahead of time either, i just know Aquatica is quality.
Thanks dude, much appreciated. Any other info you and the other "early adopters" can share with us will be most helpful. This is going to be THE housing for the 300D, IMHO.

As soon as I get her wet I will share any of my experiences for what they may be worth. She does look like a million bucks!
Question, Todd..
Is the eye piece on the Aquatica magnified? Any possibilities of some internal shots where we can see the inner workings of the housing?
My 2 seconds with it yes, the eye piece is magnified. I will post up some shots on the weekend if I get a chance.
It is still tax time up in Canada till the end of the month including AGM deadlines for a number of other corporates. Fun time of year but pays the bills. Thus, I unwrapped the housing from the boxes and put them away. It is killing me!!

In my two minute run with a Ben Mazin's A300 a couple weeks ago, this LCD-shot-framing diver was fairly surprised that the image thru the viewfinder was easy to see.

Aquatica's Dovetail Plates, or ULCS BA-AQ work, depending upon your preference.
Do any of you have the ICU model, or is that still not shipping?
Inon strobes are being stubborn with the ICU, but Sea & Sea YS strobes and Ikelite DS strobes are no problem.
Strobe cord? What type of connection on the bulkhead do I need?
Nikonos Style, available in single or double configuration.

Shooting Macro, most users will lock the AV +/- in, and only be changing aperture. This is quite convenient. When balancing foregroudn and backgroudn exposure, the the control will need to be threaded in and out more often...

I may have missed something, I've had vacation brain, but to my knowledge the only FE Comp hack works when connected via usb.

I posted some ergo shots right when I got my initial order in, and it was linked from the home page. If you haven't read it already, it might help.

There are two versions of the FEC hack one uses the SET button followed by spinning the wheel and the other uses the WB button followd by spinning the wheel. You dont have to hold the SET/WB button, only press it once, so it should be easier to adjust the normal EC.

Hi Todd
Looking at the coloUr of your housing I rekon that it will become invisible at about 35m! It even has "backscatter"?
I so love Aquatica housings, I have one as a comforter for when I am not diving ![]()
PauP
I prefer stealthy... ![]()

Yes, and to make the camera even less conspicuous to the subject, Todd diverts their attention with a bright pink modeling light.
