Which RX100 for macro, possibly video

  1. I tried having a conversation with Backscatter about this but they weren't very forthcoming in suggestions and my emails eventually went unanswered. I tried chasing them up but IDK, maybe they realised they weren't going to make a quick sale so they dropped the ball. I was teetering on the edge of buying the EPL9 setup but during this time I had a rethink. On the one hand I already own m43 lenses and am comfortable with the format, on the other was a dated sensor and limited video capabilities (on Sony I shoot HLG, on the GH5 v-log). I wasn't convinced it was the way forward for me.

Meanwhile, I already own a Sony A7C and various lenses so I'm waiting on either Ikelite or Seafrogs to get their housing on the market, by which time I might have the budget to invest in a FF setup with excellent video capabilities. I'd need to buy a macro lens in either scenario so both options come down to cash flow!

In the short-term I have purchased the TG6 to replace my TG-5, which at least allows aperture control in macro mode, which was my main goal in the short-term. The $300 investment (versus $1000+) will tide me over for the next season.
