How to edit underwater photos?

  1. I have to say I like my images crunchy, although I mostly use clarity on local adjustments. I don’t go above 30 though. I agree it’s something that needs to be used with care.

  2. Editing digital phots is all about understanding what you are trying to achieve and how to go about this at both the taking and editing stages.

So, for example, if you understand the relationship between ambient light and strobe/video illumination in terms of both comparative brightness and colour, along with how your camera sensor will record these, then you will end up with a RAW file which can then be edited to achive your required result. If you do not appreciate these parameters then you will potentially struggle to achieve balances which work for you because they will always be hit and miss. Editing in software (the earliest I know I used was PS4 but I may have used earlier versions and no longer have the disks) optimises the image but the image still needs to be taken with an understanding of what you are trying to achieve in the first place - pre-visualisation if you want.
