Moisture alarm

  1. Can't replace the battery!!!! :) are you sure ???? ;)

  2. The MCD Leek Detector is a one time use unit - since the battery is like NEVER in use (hopefully) it will last a LOOOOONG time.

The battery is supposed to be sealed so it won't hurt to get it wet. The shorter Leek Detector actually has the sensor MOUNTED on the battery/electronics block.

    Cheers

  3. Thats right Jámes. My battery, like you see in the picture...

have a sensor mounted on the back. and a second sensor as a backup.

  4. Are there any problems installing an alarm in an Ikelite housing?

  5. No problems installing in an Ikelite housing. I use the LEEK detector in my Ikelite housing. I just taped it in there with scotch tape. Works perfectly. You can test the detector with a licked finger.

My version has two sensors. One I taped near the port opening and the other at the lowest point. I could only find the single sensor version on their website. Mabe they don't make the other one anymore?

  6. I have just finished designing my own ( OK - electronics & mechanical design is my day job ).

If anyone is interested in the schematic I can put it up in the DIY forum or somewhere.
