Travel Packing advise

In the last few years I have used two 1535 air pelicans to travel with my underwater rig. I just got the nauticam wacp-c and I am not sure how to pack it. I am debating on leaving it in its original bag and putting it in my check in bag. Otherwise I have to move things out of my pelican bags to fit the wacp-c. I can move things easy enough I am just not sure that the current padding in my pelican is enough to protect the heavy element in the wacp-c. How does everybody else travel with this lense/port.
