  1. I don't think I'm a noob, and even I thought they were the next generation of S2000 strobes.
  2. Nauticam is the same. Very sensitive. I had my leak detector go off on a dive (hair on the o-ring broke the vacuum). Caught it early where it was a teaspoon or less water in the housing. Was able to dry it out, clean with some alcohol, and go on with my trip.
  3. I'm debating if it can become my night dive lens. Seems like a great option for various night subjects if I don't want to go macro.
  4. I recently got this XTar charger, mostly because it's USB C so I can charge my camera batteries, strobe batteries, light batteries, etc. all via one big usb power adapter. Amazon.com: 18650 Battery Charger XTAR VC4H 4bays 21700 Battery Charger USB C Charger AA AAA Battery Charger (VC4H+QC3.0 Adapter) : Electronics It works great, but is definitely slower than my 8 port AA only maha charger when charging the strobe AA's.
  5. Excellent picture! Which TC are you using? Can I get away with the base kenko teleplus hd dgx? I'm assuming I'd put the TC between my Sigma MC-11 adapter and my Tokina, and then use an N85 extension to push the whole N120 section of the setup further out to preserve my zoom gear functionality.
  6. Mostly just trying to visualize when I would use this vs just the native setup without the TC. Vacation diver, so I don't get to spend as much time shooting as I wish I could.
  7. Interesting. I don't even carry my kit 16-50 lens anymore for that mid-range FOV, and I either shoot my Tokina or Zeiss Touit macro. I can already do CFWA with the stock tokina since it will focus on the dome. Sounds like this tightens up the field of view. Still might be worth pricing out an N85 20mm extension and a TC.
  8. What do you gain from the TC on the Tokina? It's my go to lens on my a6100 Nauticam setup, but wondering if I should consider adding a TC and another port extension?
  9. Resolution is pretty much the only reason I would want to switch to FF. 24MP can be limiting sometimes. Topside low light performance would be another but that doesn’t help me underwater. but it would cost me 10’s of thousands of dollars to upgrade so I’ll stick with my APSC setup for a long time.
  10. I've been a S&S shooter for a long time. I now shoot a pair of D3 mk2's. I upgraded from Ys-110a's, and love the D3's. I use the dome diffusers for shooting WA, and there's more than enough light for me, and the snoot or flat diffusers for macro. The snoot works great. Retra's, the new Backscatter hybrid, or the Maralux Apollo 3 all look great, but are significantly more expensive.
  11. I shoot an A6100 in a Nauticam A6400 housing. I use the Tokina 10-17 with a Sigma MC-11 and Zen mini dome for WA. I shoo the Zeiss Touit 50mm for macro.
  12. Where did you get this information? I believe you just need to contact Miso directly at leak sentinel.
  13. Just so we can learn, what mistake did you make? Was your vacuum system activated, showing green, etc?
  14. My biggest pet peeve is gate agents forcing me to remove the battery bank from its slot under the handle on my away carry on when boarding. They tell me it can't be in that slot, but can be inside the bag, in my backpack, etc? How is it any different in that slot? It doesn't make any sense. I usually take it out, then put it back in there on the jet bridge.
  15. Looks like an iDAS branded arm.

    But they're fancy blue o-rings!
  17. Just 1 more thing to manage charging, turning on, cramming into an already packed housing, etc. Being a vacation diver, I decided the additional complication isn't worth it for me.
  18. Installed in the housing for a few minutes, but decided to continue using the built in flash instead. Brand new. comes with everything. These retail for $375 plus tax and shipping. Get it for $300 shipped in the US.
  19. After years of heavy backpacks, I switched to a pelican style case. Wheeled and fits in all international carry on limits (except weight). in it goes: - housing with camera and fisheye lens and port installed - macro and standard zoom port (same port with extension rings) - macro lens - standard lens - diopter - 2x strobes with dome diffusers and snoot - focus light - shearwater wrist unit - vacuum pump - all camera batteries, dive light battery, and 16x AA batteries in my checked bag goes all my wife and I’s other gear: 2x sets of fins, 2 wetsuits, 2 bcd’s, 4 masks, chargers, camera arms and clamps. regs go in our backpacks, and we use one checked and one carry on suitcase for all our clothes.
  20. I shoot Sony APS-C, so I'm locked at 1/160 sync speed. I don't really find it limiting. I mostly shoot with it locked there, and just adjust aperature or iso to dial in my exposure. Strobes are in TTL.
  21. I have a Sola 500 photo, and 1200 photo. Both have been flawless for the years I've owned, them. I use them mostly as focus lights (the red light is great), but also as primary night dive lights, as well as lighting during some macro use. The sealed construction really makes them easy to deal with.
  22. Another Chicago based diver checking in! Although I don't do much diving IN Chicagoland. The lake is too cold 🥶
  23. Yup I use this dome and the adapter as well. Works great for my Tokina on my A6100 setup. I also use the MC-11 instead of the metabones.
  24. Yup, I see what he meant now. oops.
