  1. Dahab has a well developed Tech scene, I have a sense you may find what you're looking for there. I don't have recommendation but you should check the centers there. It's also a very relaxed location, and i remember it fondly (i used to freedive there). The reef was nice, but i suspect most of the diving there is blue hole related. Ask the dive shops :)
  2. Is it not too cumbersome to have two lenses protruding out when you want to shoot without any diopters? Particularly as it relates to strobe placement? Never used double flip holders so quite curious
  3. Hi Romik, Thank you very much for sharing the beautiful pictures and your thoughts! This is helpful! :)
  4. Hi all, A friend of mine is trying to convince me to join their group for a diving trip to Galapagos in March. They are not photographers. Besides the travel and costs, it seems to me that the photography there is luck dependent and can be hit or miss (on top of difficult visibility at times). Has anyone been there? I'm not convinced that it could be a productive trip compared to other locations (for similar distance/cost). If anyone has pictures to share, i'd love to take a look at them! Thank you
  5. fwiw I remember reading that the Ikea NIMH were exactly the same model as the eneloops, just different outer branding layer and that they came from the same manufacturer : https://www.reddit.com/r/batteries/comments/omuns6/new_ikea_ladda_nimh_batteries/ https://www.dpreview.com/videos/8633918572/comparison-cheap-ikea-ladda-batteries-beat-panasonic-eneloop-pro-recycle-speed
  6. Beautiful pics! I'm eyeing that destination, but was wondering - with the cold water, was it ok with your gloves to burp the WWL-1? And is the choice of WWL-1 driven by flexibility of a zoom or was the water too full of particles to use a fisheye? Wide angle seems definitely like a feature of the location, compared to other cold water areas i've dived in
  7. Nauticam will become much more expensive. To be seen whether there will be pricing differences between regions (US vs Europe) or if the prices will be increased globally..
  8. Just found out that this manufacturer of lamps has gone out of business (https://lightandmotion.com/) Trump tariffs on Chinese components won't help other US based manufacturers in the short term I assume
  9. I have seen it in beta, and now purchased it. Very happy with it so far. I noticed today that several pictures still had a lot of backscatter, but I realised quickly that it was my monitor which was dirty and dusty.. 😅
  10. In hundreds of dives i have never had any bubbles For whales, i recommend WWL- Norway has dark waters and you'll want to open up the aperture as much as you can
  11. Excellent report and very useful tips, thank you for sharing! I'm not tempted by it but this is certainly very impressive!
  12. I don't have the answer but you may want to watch these
  13. Thank you everyone for the thoughtful responses! Much appreciated 🙂 Giancarlo, beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing with us!
  14. Hi all, I've done very little (if any) macro photography and started learning about diopters only recently (big thanks also chatGPT). I understand that Nauticam has a series of them (cmc, smc i believe), but saw other brands. Has anyone had feedback on the subsee brand? Some second hand ones are quite cheap (+5/+10) but i'm wondering if it's worth getting a powerful one if i've never shot with one before? Would love to get your thoughts and experience on diopter use overall as well as that brand! Thanks Alex
