  1. Just found out that this manufacturer of lamps has gone out of business (https://lightandmotion.com/) Trump tariffs on Chinese components won't help other US based manufacturers in the short term I assume
  2. I have seen it in beta, and now purchased it. Very happy with it so far. I noticed today that several pictures still had a lot of backscatter, but I realised quickly that it was my monitor which was dirty and dusty.. 😅
  3. In hundreds of dives i have never had any bubbles For whales, i recommend WWL- Norway has dark waters and you'll want to open up the aperture as much as you can
  4. Excellent report and very useful tips, thank you for sharing! I'm not tempted by it but this is certainly very impressive!
  5. I don't have the answer but you may want to watch these
  6. Thank you everyone for the thoughtful responses! Much appreciated 🙂 Giancarlo, beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing with us!
  7. Hi all, I've done very little (if any) macro photography and started learning about diopters only recently (big thanks also chatGPT). I understand that Nauticam has a series of them (cmc, smc i believe), but saw other brands. Has anyone had feedback on the subsee brand? Some second hand ones are quite cheap (+5/+10) but i'm wondering if it's worth getting a powerful one if i've never shot with one before? Would love to get your thoughts and experience on diopter use overall as well as that brand! Thanks Alex
  8. What? Nauticam doesn't include them anymore? That's a tad ridiculous! I remember they were included with my housing (back then last decade!) Great setup!
  9. Fantastic video!! The wrecks there are truly out of this world. Which club did you dive with? I need to plan some diving there..
  10. I have not - I reached out and it does not have TTL, just manual, like the nauticam one but at an attractive price point..
  11. I have the nauticam one and the turtle. No issue so far; I prefer the nauticam one as I shoot manual only and don't like the flimsy cable of the TRT unit. That being said, flash triggers are too expensive for what they do and i'm keen to get my hands on that one when I can https://www.fun-in.com.tw/en/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=4043
  12. It looks like the RS13 hype is living up, its second hand price is heading to the moon, seeing one at 3000GBP on ebay.. it was close to half 2 months ago! 😆
  13. Hey Chip, I was last November there and the sea was toasty warm (26-28, like in Cayman last Jan) but the year before when I also went, it was a few degrees cooler (23°C). Air temp can vary a lot but note that it is often very windy. I'd bring a sweater and a shell jacket. Cairo will be materially warmer. Do visit the coptic area, and if you do the pyramids, don't buy the ticket to go in; not worth it! If you have several days to spare, try the Black and White Desert and bring a mini tripod, you'll get fantastic pictures of the sky at night (milky way) and the desert! Hope all is well! Alex
  14. Frankly, it will be very challenging to take splits with such a dome port unless the water is very still! A good dome nonetheless for all the other uses.
