I asked Oskar about a diaphragm version of the Retra LSD. He said it was something they had looked at but decided against as they were fragile and prone to breaking. But... I live in hope they could solve that problem. I like the masks but being able to dial in a circular adjustment (point taken on the shape issue, Barmaglot) would be terrific.

I agree with the guys, Chip: get a snoot. It makes a massive difference to macro photography. And they are so fun to play around with - well at least once the early frustrations are out of the way!

The Red Sea trip we did last August in the St John’s area, my computer showed a temperature several times at depth of over 30 degrees. Moving north back towards Port Ghalib first dive of the day temperature on the surface was 28. It felt cold!

Barmaglot’s point is a fair one. The only thing I’d add is that there’s nothing worse than going for the lower model…. then constantly thinking I should have bought the better one. Been there, regretted that.
the new museum is open. We were there in August last year. The display of Pharaoh mummies is incredible. Check out on YouTube the ceremony that was used to move them.
Aside of Giza, the citadel of Salah El-Din is worth a visit and the Hanging Church
