A1 II or A7v as a video camera
Hi, I'm doing mostly macro stuff. Until now only stills. Now I want to change my camera (A7Rv) more in direction to video. I'm also not happy with the autofocus of my A7RV on land and underwater. But I would need a good underwater macro still function too. As I had recently bought the Sony 100 mm macro (and have other lenses for land, as special wildlife) I want to stay with Sony. Do you think A7v would be better for video as the A1 II? I would immediately decide for A7v because of price, battery, new sensor ..., but for cropping A1 II would be better and I use cropping also on land a lot for macro. Would be happy for some thoughts about it. Thanks! LG Susanne

Sony A7rV firmware update (ver.4)
no, unfortunately not, autofocus, as special cont autofocus is still very unsatisfying for me (macro use). What is new is, that you can create your own customized focus points

time to update from Canon 7dmkii
I do not know how fast you will have to change, but Canon R6 II is a very good camera ( I know it from a friend, underwater and above water) and there is a new version of this camera in the startup line of Canon, announced with more megapixel. That could be a good choice, including good video features announced.

Macro gear with near unlimited budget
yes i did a reset, several times and I tried a lot of changes of the settings. Unfortunately I did not have a second A7r5 to compare. Now I gave the camera back to the dealer. I'm thinking to buy the A1 ii, because all of my surrounding staff is Sony. But also thinking about Canon. Therefore my original question. My biggest interest is macro/supermacro.

Macro gear with near unlimited budget
its exactly described here, what I wanted to use, I believe more and more that my camera has a problem...

Macro gear with near unlimited budget
thanks for that descriptions, the only thing is that I 'm not using object tracking, its off! I used only cont autofocus, tried it with a stativ and a not moving subject which is easy to focus (good contrast and light). And yet the frame does not match the focus point. Roughly it looks like the picture I have attached. (Sorry for the primitive drawing, but I gave my A7R5 back to my dealer yesterday, looking for a new system now). It's not always the same result, but I got deviations with every new focussing even though camera and subject are fixed. Underwater it made live really hard.
