New Canon EOS C50 Cinema Camera
I actually really like using a battery pack with the R5C too. It lasts for hours, which is fantastic underwater and on expeditions. But there is one thing that I dislike : if you don’t use the camera for some time, the battery pack disconnects itself. On long boat rides I have to remember to switch the camera on from time to time otherwise it goes to sleep and disconnects. I don’t know if Canon/Nauticam solved that issue on the C50 setup. And I also noticed the dedicated WB button on the C50 housing — that’s honestly such a great idea for underwater work.

To be honest, with Canon RAW I think you really need to expose to the right and even slightly overexpose to get the best results. I got caught by that at the beginning because I didn’t know it behaved that way, and my first tests looked much noisier than expected. But once I understood how the codec likes to be exposed, I was actually very happy with the results, especially after grading.

New Canon EOS C50 Cinema Camera
Thanks a lot for your feedback, really appreciated. I totally see your point about the C50. I had also been looking closely at the new 20-50 PZ lens, especially for use with the WACP. For now Nauticam still doesn’t seem to know if it will be officially compatible with the WACP setup. To be honest I’m not a huge fan of the RF 24-50 that I currently use with my WACP. It works, but I really think the new 20-50 L series could deliver much better image quality and a more interesting range underwater. I also agree with you about the photo side of things. Since switching to the R5C I actually shoot a lot more stills than before, but I mostly work with video lights so the lack of shutter/flash sync wouldn’t affect me too much. I guess that’s probably the real issue on your side if you travel wanting a true hybrid setup. And honestly, I also use the R5C a lot topside and it’s such a joy to work with. Still one of my favorite hybrid cameras overall.

New Canon EOS C50 Cinema Camera
Hi everyone, I'm an owner of the R5C which I really like. I'm looking to change for 2nd camera (BMPCC6k) for this last canon cinema camera. Does anyone did use it underwater and as any review about it ? Thank you

I wanted to share with you the latest images of Luca Keller. This is what he told me : "Shot on an FX3 with a few different lenses :) - But no WACP"

INON Underwater Tripod System
Thanks David for this clarification. I've also been looking for a while to do nice tracking without jolts. I admit that if something like this existed to go underwater I would take one too. Not only for macro but as you say for wide angle or semi wide angle. But precisely, on this instrument, how could we add rolls to then put the tripod

INON Underwater Tripod System
This is the level above the classic underwater tripod. I don't know how they work underwater or even if the friction of the water allows you to do nice tracking of species... I saw these photos on rEvorebreather's Instagram. I have often asked myself the question of tripods too. And I also use Nauticam's most basic tripod. I'm happy with it but obviously the subject must remain practically still otherwise it goes directly out of the sharpness zone.

Fluorescence
I did not think about it first but you can have a blue light and use a snoot on it. I don't have one at the moment so I put a blue filter on CB10000, but I can't put a snoot on the filter...

Fluorescence
I've been deep diving in his videos since and they are all very incredible. I really like the one hour chill videos. I'm always scared to bore people with videos that are more than 3mn. I'm gonna think about it again. Thanks for that Davide :)

Fluorescence
Hi @Cutbacks_Ericeira ! I can't say I suceeded but let say there is hope. So I tried with my bigblue 10k lumen CB and a blue filter. And sometimes I tried with an other bigblue I have, 3500p supreme. And I think it's better with this last one. I like to use the snoot for macro filming. And with this 10 degree halo, it works better. But what I really would like is a blue snoot filter. But I don't think it exist yet.

List all underwater video YouTube channels
Hello everyone, I am often looking to learn new underwater video techniques. Or simply to look at what others are doing to get new ideas. Or just for the pleasure of watching. But it is not always easy to find good references. I often see new YouTube channels that Davide mentions in his posts. I found the idea that everyone could share the YouTube channels that interest them and share them with others on the forum interesting. I'll start the list but feel free to share yours please :) https://www.youtube.com/@TomPark https://www.youtube.com/@bbcearth https://www.youtube.com/@BehindtheMask https://www.youtube.com/@underwateritaly https://www.youtube.com/@arte https://www.youtube.com/@Aquatilis https://www.youtube.com/@DiveHard https://www.youtube.com/@BlueWorldTV https://www.youtube.com/@Alex_Mustard https://www.youtube.com/@bubblevision https://www.youtube.com/@UnexpectedDiscovery https://www.youtube.com/@dibrem https://www.youtube.com/@CritterHunter https://www.youtube.com/@patrickrbourgeois https://www.youtube.com/@naucratesuw https://www.youtube.com/@DidierNoirot https://www.youtube.com/@RobSwisher https://www.youtube.com/@theaquaticeye6849 https://www.youtube.com/@UnderThePoleVideo https://www.youtube.com/@gombessaexpeditions The list is not exhaustive but if you have others to share I think many might be interested. Thanks

Fluorescence
Thank you Maria :) That was just a first try. I didn't had the yellow infra filter on my lens. I did put the yellow glasses in from of the flat port just to see if it worked. I filmed that in "little Brittany", west part of France Atlantic, so you could probably do the same I think.

Whao ! This is incredible, thanks. I'm gonna look at it further. I would be happy to know which filters he's using for it. Same for the lights.

Fluorescence
Hi everyone, I tried yesterday, for the first time, doing some fluorescence. Here is what I filmed. It wasn't completly dark so I could probably get better colors. But, it wasn't like I saw it. I don't know what I could to do to do it better. Any advice please ? Anywere I could find some informations about it ? Thanks everyone.

Black magic 6k and underwater lenses
Of course. But your sea looks more bright than mine ;) F8 is impossible with this camera and in dark water. Even at 3200 iso. But F5 or F6 and zooming yes. I've got other videos in here, at 50 to 60m, completly in the dark. Even with a divers with big lights and at 3200iso, you still have to open at F4-5...

Black magic 6k and underwater lenses
On this on I was really open, like f3.5... So yes it makes sense for the borders to be so smooth...

Black magic 6k and underwater lenses
If you look at this video, I've got the same issue. But it was so dark that I couldn't open so unless zooming in a bit I don't know what else I can do. I'm also wondering if a 40mm lens with port 12 and a MWL-1 could help with that problem...?

Black magic 6k and underwater lenses
Thanks Davide. I will try that tomorrow. That's also why I wanted to get a better lens, 24-70mm Canon "L". I don't know if it could help in farpness. I will keep reading around.

Black magic 6k and underwater lenses
Of course, here is a link. We can see all the borders are really smooth. This is in Brittany so closing at F11 will put a lot of noise on the images. It is better in mediteranean sea if course, because I can close a bit more :

Black magic 6k and underwater lenses
Hi Davide, Thank you for your reply. You are right, the lens is not listed anymore. But I've got the 60 ring extension with the 8,5'' dome. That was the best before. The problem is when I close at F11, I have to put to many ISO that the picture is not really good. The water isn't really clear everytime so I would like to find an other solution. The glass dome will really help a lot in better sharpness ?
