  1. Will someone please go get one of the 10-22mm, modify it to fit a 10d/d60, and post the pics on how to do it? I'd like someone else to be the beta tester!!

    :D :D

  2. yeah. Rob seems to have serious ambitions. we should support him with some encouraging lens-modifiyng blah balh :D

Rob, B&H is awaiting your lens order :D

Looks simple enough. Just follow these directions.

You may want to get a 18-55mm kit lens and see if the mount dimensions are the same as the 10-22mm.

  4. This may be an oversimplification, but does anyone think stuffing a 20D into a 10D housing would be as simple as getting an updated replacement back for the housing?

  5. Probably, and a slightly modified mounting tray put into the housing front.

    Cheers

  6. this camera and EF-S lenses are going to kill me. I really was ready to order the 10D housing for the next trip in Nov. and to become a digital UW shooter.

But now I sit in front of the stupid computer and picked up the overlap image idea from James.

My personal result is I will continue shooting film for this year. :?

Why I tell you? If there is someone who would like to see the silly and time wasting overlay GIFs of the two cameras here you go.

    blending starts with 20D.

I have taken the lens as reference. So camera position is different in these GIFs. Does not say anything if the camera would work in a 10D housing or not. But I decided to not place my order now. I want the 10-22mm EF-S lens.

  7. Having looked at the various web overlays of the camera, the 20D's controls should work on the 10D housings. The one control you may not have access to would be the ISO button....it looks to more inboard than that of the 10D....However the important ones...shutter release, command dial, rear dial, Set, Menu and Trash seem to be in the right spot.

I'll be keeping my 10D and won't likely upgrade to the 20D for a while yet...however, if my neighborhood camera shop has one, I may bring in the 10D housing to line things up

Just because the 20D is out doesn't mean my 10D has stopped taking great images.

    my 2 cents

That's a point that it's sometimes hard to remember when you get caught up in the excitement of a new gadget.

I'd be curious to know if it would fit in a 10d housing though, that would certainly make it interesting.

  9. Tom, agreed.

If I would have a housed 10D, the 20D would not be worth spending money on a new housing to me.

  10. I don't envy you Julian, it's tough jumping into the dSLR cycle given the amount of money the camera, lenses, housing, and ports cost. It would be much easier if the 10d and 20d were the same body, at least then you could upgrade...

  11. yeah. Maybe Inon was so smart to build their announced 10D housing right away for the 20D and we will be surprised by a release this month. hohoho, LOL :)
