ErikaNydaria
Published in the journal Science, this first of its kind meta-analysis on conservation efforts, spanning across the globe and throughout the past century, that reveals that conservation efforts 'improved the state of biodiversity or slowed its decline in most cases (66%) compared with no action at all. Meanwhile, another paper in Science outlines a comprehensive strategy for implementing marine spatial planning policies to the high seas. This climate-smart approach is critical for protecting biodiversity and battling climate stressors. Plus the giant blue-grey sei whale, once locally extinct in Argentina, are making a comeback! Klaus
Thanks for you efforts to spread the word that a scientific approach is key to approaching the challenges we are facing! For prevention of diabetes or lung cancer this is somehow easier, but getting public awareness for ecology at a planetary scale remains a tough nut to crack. Keep going!
