bvanant Posted December 12 Posted December 12 I am shooting an OM-1 in an AOI housing, mostly (well almost all) and have all the macro lenses (30,45,60,90) and the 12-50 and 14-42. We are doing a Banda trip to Manuk and Guning API to shoot snakes. I would like a wide angle solution using some water contact lenses (not a dome port). What should I buy. thanks Bill
cashmorephoto Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Does the AOI wet wide lens fit? I have an EM-10 Mark IV which uses the PEN ports not the OM ports but I think you might have something that is compatible with it. 1
Chris Ross Posted December 13 Posted December 13 The logical suggestion is a WWL 1/1B however using a bayonet system with these lenses needs the nauticam bayonet-M67 adapter to fit on the AOI port - it doesn't fit on all ports if the rim is too thick. Seems like it would be better to use this with a 14-42 if mounting arrangements suited you. The WWL-C doesn't give full 130 deg with the 12-50 but you could use it with a Panasonic 12-32, but only way to mount this one is if the Nauticam bayonet adapter fits the AOI port. The AOI is an option as well you and have the choice of a PC or glass front dome and they sell a quick release setup as well as a buoyancy collar - it says the collar makes the PC dome +ve UW. 1
John E Posted December 13 Posted December 13 I second what Chris says but I lean towards the AOI wet lens with their quick release bayonet for easy guaranteed compatibility with the port and your zoom lenses. My preference would be the one with the glass front element and collar. Although cheaper, the acrylic fronts are easy to scratch and cannot be polished due to a coating (unlike a normal acrylic dome). The cost of wet lens repair if a scratch does happen involves returning the lens for a new front element. 1
