Fakarava South - Latest Update, Dive Centers and Accommodation Tips

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to spend at least one week in Fakarava South, French Polynesia, and would love to hear some recent feedback and recommendations from divers who have been there recently.

First of all, are there any updates regarding the dive sites in the southern part of Fakarava? Have there been any changes to the diving locations, conditions, dive operations or overall experience in recent years?

I’m also interested in hearing about the dive centre with accommodation located right at the southern end of the atoll. I have come across some rather negative reviews and feedback in the past. Has anything improved recently, or is the general experience still disappointing?

Finally, if you were planning to spend at least 7 days in Fakarava South, where would you recommend staying? Is it best to book accommodation directly in the south, or are there better options for combining accommodation and diving?

I’d particularly appreciate recent first-hand experiences, recommendations for reliable dive operators and tips on where to stay to get the most out of a longer visit.
