Note that Nikon has "archived" (discontinued?) this lens. It was made for DSR. Don't know how well it worked with the FTZ adapter for mirrorless. Maybe a new design fisheye is in the works for mirrorless camera. Maybe it will appear with the rumored Z8 II.

I use the Nikkor 8-15mm on both a Z6iii and a Z9 - not underwater. Works really well with the FTZ.

The Nikon 8-15mm works great with the Z-body cameras using the FTZ adapter. Excellent quality. It is my favorite wide angle lens, often paired with a Kenko 1.4tc.

The FTZ adapter is literally just a spacer with pass-thru of the electrical conduits. It exactly replicates the mirror box volume of a DSLR on a slimmer mirrorless body. It does not have any glass in it, so focus and optical performance is identical to what an DSLR had.

I'm glad I have my Nikon version of this lens and happy t hear it works well with the FTZ adapter. What I considered more important is that Nikon no longer makes the lens.

On. the B&H website when I ask for a search for Nikon 8-15m fisheye, the only result given is Venus Optics Laowa 8-15mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens (Nikon Z). And while this sounds like a good alternative, if you look at the "specifications" details, the Laowa lens is MANUAL FOCUS whereas the Nikon lens is AF-S auto-focus. A very big difference.

I suggest buying from a quality used lens vendor like KEH.com. I always look at KEH when ever I want to buy lens. Their quality inspection and rating system ensures you get what you pay for. You can still get the lens serviced by Nikon in the future. The fact that they are not making it anymore is not really important.

Some of the most sought after UW lenses like the Nikonos RS13 have not been made in decades. The prices for this antique lens that needs a $2000 refit before you can even shoot it on modern cameras reflect this quality and scarcity!

I use this Lens with my Nikon Z50 2 in my Ikelite Housing with 8 inch Dome Port. It works Great with no problems.
