Cool, I am still waiting on my housing. When I placed my order, I was told that it would be delayed a bit, since Nauticam were about to start a new production run. I am hoping that this new run will have the housings labelled GH6/GH7 instead of just GH6, just for appearance. That protection sounds like a nice feature.

Thanks folks, since i don't use a dome, I wasn't aware of how fragile they might be.

Is there a reason not to just leave it on the boat so that it will be there when you get back to the boat?

Well, I finally decided to take the plunge - my new GH7 should arrive today. Then, I will be calling the usual vendors to get a housing. I don't have any dive trips planned right now, though, so it will be a little while before I get it in the water.

Frankly, to me, the idea of the art of videography (I only do video) and competitions are inherently at odds. I have no interest in such competition and really don't even look at them, except as photos to see. I often prefer some of the runner-ups to the actual award winners.

It partly depends on the context. If it is going to be shown where it might be noisy, or otherwise hard to hear, text messages are much more reliable.

That is a shame.

Mostly because I tend to get sidetracked by other options - paralysis by analysis. As I mentioned in another thread, I think that I want to move from my GH-5 to the new GH-7. That will require a new housing, but I can keep my current ports and lenses. This makes the most sense, but I start looking at all the other options, and the cost and then get stuck. I am lucky in that my partner actually doesn't mind what I spend on underwater video equipment, it is still cheaper than what I spend on sports cars and motorcycles...

I am just about at option "c) buy more gear" - but can't seem to pull the trigger yet for some reason.

I like to keep things as simple as I can...
