Cuba - Los Jardines de La Reina, Gardens of the Queen
@PeterN OK, I threw together a short video. It isn't edited well, and I kept in some of the jerky motion to show more of what the experience was like. I hope you enjoy it. https://youtu.be/oZFgh80ZIsQ

@bghazzal I was about to ask the same thing!

Cuba - Los Jardines de La Reina, Gardens of the Queen
Yeah, quite likely. They tend to hang out in a fairly shallow area. I will see what I can put together.

It is a very cool experience. I got some great sots of a crocodile swimming within a few feet of my camera. Really awesome stuff. Perhaps I will try and re-edit just that part of my Cuba video for the group here, if I get some time. It was a little shaky as I recall, because everything was happening very quickly.

Kraken 5.5 "ultra bright"u/w monitor
Yes, it was the original cable that came with my GH5 housing when I bought that, and the GH6 is even tighter. Ahhh, I understand.

Minor Issue with Mexico Customs
That would be more than a minor problem to me. Sorry that happened to you.

Kraken 5.5 "ultra bright"u/w monitor
While diving with Reef Photo at the Blue Heron Bridge recently using a rental GH6, I discovered that there isn't really enough room between the camera and a Nauticam housing for the internal HDMI cable. I had to shave some of the rubber off the connector to get it to close. I made sure that Reef Photo knew about it, so they could talk with Nauticam about it. I am not sure if there might a "low profile" connector or something that might help, but it will probably also be an issue with the GH7 since it uses the same housing.

Underwater Photography with a Rebreather
Great article thanks. I have been thinking about CCR for a while now, due to the reasons that you discuss. I have held off since most of my recreational diving, where I am really doing videography is travel-oriented and I worried about that. Perhaps you can do a follow-up article on traveling with a CCR? That would be really helpful.

Greetings! I'm looking for a GH5 Nauticam Housing :-)
When the vacuum system electronics failed in my GH5 housing, as I recall, I sent it to Reef Photo and they had it back very quickly.

Hurricanes Helene and Mitlon, and Reef Photo
I was watching the hurricane tracks and wondering how the folks at Reef Photo did. Is everyone OK?

Panasonic Lumix GH7
Here's review from Interceptor121 with the camera in the water for anyone who hasn't already seen it: https://interceptor121.com/2024/08/16/panasonic-gh7-review-for-underwater-photography-autofocus/ and his second review: https://interceptor121.com/2024/08/21/panasonic-gh7-review-for-underwater-photography-image-quality-and-housing-ergonomics/ They are a bit short on details, but are generally complimentary.

Retra O-Rings in the US
I am not sure from your specs if the 40 mm is the ID or the OD, but here's a source as well: https://www.mcmaster.com/products/o-rings/system-of-measurement~metric/cross-section-shape~round/id~40-000-mm/material~viton-fluoroelastomer/?s=o-ring+40+x+2.5mm+epdm+70

Philippines trip advice sort.
I only have one trip to the Philippines (so far), and only went to Puerto Galera, but loved it there. All the dives are at most a 10 minute boat ride from the resort, other than Verde Island, and there is lots of variety there. I am sure that the other places mentioned are great too, I just haven't visited them yet. Have fun wherever you end up going!

Panasonic Lumix GH7
I just checked with Backscatter and they still haven't had one in the water yet. I am a little surprised at that, so the wait continues. They said they would probably know more in about a month, though.

Roatan, Honduras
We just made our reservations for our next trip "home" in January. We are already looking forward to it. I used to really dislike the Mr. Bud, but now that it has some growth on it, it is one of my favorite dives, along with the French Cay Cut.

Yeah, I have an old pelican case with an old Light and Motion housing for a Sony HDR-HC9...

Panasonic Lumix GH7
Yeah, I hope that when the time comes to purchase a GH7 and housing, that my current GH5 and housing might have some residual value to offset the upgrade cost. We will see, I guess.

Panasonic Lumix GH7
That's too bad. I almost bought a used GH6 housing as well, but decided to wait until someone else gets one in the water and tests things like WB, etc.
