Pooley Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Here's a few from a recent trip to the sites close to Tulamben 1. Frogfish 2. Donut nudi 3. Goby with eggs 4. The ever faithful Shaun the Sheep nudi 5. Velvet Ghost Pipefish 6. Leaf-fish hiding in coral 7. Juvenile batfish Mike 12 1
Fabian Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Great pictures! I really like the background of the pipefish, gives it an artistic/abstract touch.
ChrisH Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Really nice! Especially the shot of the donut nudi and the backlit leaf fish! Well done! 👍 Did you use a snoot for the backlighting of the leaf fish?
TimG Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Yep, super pics, Mike. The juvenile frogfish and the backlight one especially. Nice job!

Thanks, I really like this one myself - once I saw the review underwater I stayed with him quite a while On 6/1/2024 at 9:07 AM, ChrisH said: Really nice! Cheers Chris, yes the leaf fish was snooted from the rear of the fish On 6/1/2024 at 11:33 AM, TimG said: Yep, super pics, Mike. The juvenile frogfish and the backlight one especially. Nice job! Thanks Time, I dropped lucky with him - 3 yawns then we left him to it On 6/1/2024 at 12:58 PM, Luko said: Nice pics. Were you diving with Ajiex? Thanks Luko, and yes with Ajiex. Superb guide as he's quick to grasp what you want to do with lighting etc. He was a little obsessed with getting me to do some colour abstract stuff like this which isn't really my thing but works now and again Mike Edited June 2 by Pooley 1

Yes, he's been my guide every year since he began freelancing 8 or 9 years ago. Very nice chap. I warned him when he started with colored lights (I think some asian photog showed him) I didn't want any of that stuff, he still tries but that has become a running joke between us. I see sometimes he recreates similar photos with various guests (thats' how I can recognize the guide) Edited June 3 by Luko 1

Mark H Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Great photos. I've not been there for a while and mostly dived the Liberty - seems I missed out 😞
Pooley Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 Not necessarily Mark, it's a great site. When I return next year I'l;; be with a non-photographer friend, so will do more dives around the liberty, coral garden, drop off etc and less at places like Seraya, Baturinngit and Germobong. It'll still be great fun with lots pod photos opportunities, just not quite as intense. Time to go back for you I reckon! Mike
Seacamera Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Awesome shots!!! I loved that dive site. One of my all time favourites.
