Saudio Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Pleased to be aboard. I was a long time poster at Wetpixels but new here. Certified in 1985 and began UW photography in 1990. Now I am nearing 2000 dives and still going strong, even as I get a bit older. Located in Western Virginia. I began shooting with an Olympus C5050, and progressed through a Canon XTI, then a Canon 7D II, and lately a Canon R7 with all the trimmings. As I approach 70, the weight and complexity of traveling with a rig this size has made me decide to downsize significantly, and go back to basics. I'll sorely miss the flexibility and quality images my rig can produce, but I don't shoot professionally and I'm ready to not have to pack my luggage to the very last ounce allowed :-). I'll be putting my complete R7 Nauticam rig, minus camera bodies (still shooting topside with them) and my strobes (moving them to the smaller rig) for sale here in the Classified as soon as I have enough posts to be able to. In the meantime, if you are considering this camera system, PM me and I'll give you details. Cheers, Mike 4

dhaas Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Mike (Saudio), Welcome from a fellow 70-ish diver :) Check out my post trying my buddy's Nauticam NA-50 rig using the small but powerful Canon R50 in the Equipment and Techniques forum. I might lighten your travel / packing load but still produce fabulous pics plus 4K video! David Haas 2
humu9679 Posted August 21 Posted August 21 @Saudio Welcome to Waterpixels. That rig that @dhaas looks very cool for stills.

I've already decided which direction I'm going, and I'm going full circle by getting an Olympus TG-7. I want light, small, simple, and inexpensive. And I think that is as far down the ladder as I can go and still be able to get images that will satisfy me. I'll miss my big rig but not the traveling chores. ;-) 2
