Davide DB Posted October 10 Posted October 10 Catchphrases in these cases are endless but it is best to avoid them. It is hard not to say banalities. The quality of after sales services and warranty, in theory and I repeat “in theory”, should shelter us from these incidents and we should evaluate them regardless of the quality of the product itself. I mean, I can have a poor product but get an impeccable warranty but I can also have a high quality product that is unfortunately defective (it is in the order of things) and I find out that the after sales service is terrible. It sounds like a triviality but today it is very easy to get feedback on the features and intrinsic quality of a product (dozens of reviews, video tests, and influencers lavishing tags) but it is very difficult to get information on the “what if” i.e., after sales service. So thank you for your report. 1
bghazzal Posted October 22 Author Posted October 22 (edited) Interestingly, I tested the light again today, more out of curiosity than anything (I don't have a good spotting light for bonfires, so this is frustrating and I expect a miracle to happen). This time nothing happened (no disco light as in the previous video, flatlining) - however, when I opened the light, it turned out the SUPE 18650 battery was piping hot... I ventured to touch the connecter spring inside the battery compartment and burnt my pinkie, to give you an idea (no, I am not going to sue 😉) -Never seen anything like it. I'm guessing it's a short-circuit of sorts, pretty scary to see it heat up like this... Won't be testing it anymore as I'm afraid of a fire or explosion after this experience. SUPE MS10 - what a strange trip it's been... My plan is now to try and open the light up to see if I can make use of the snoot optics somehow. Edited October 22 by bghazzal
Davide DB Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Couldn't be a fault battery or did you try with another one already?

But it's time to move on, dangerous and wasting time hoping it might be resurrected - even if it does work again it will be too unstable to take diving. I just wish there was a way to recycle the optical snoot optics at the front of the light somehow, but they're welded in. Oh well, paper weight?
