  1. great shot. I'd try masking the eye tubes and lowering the exposure a little and a touch of contrast too. Just seems bright which pulls your eyes from its eyes.
  2. So I just got back from a trip to Little Cayman and used the "Pro diffusers " with my Inon Z330 on both the type 1 and type 2 strobes. I didn't see any difference between using them with either the type 1 or 2. I did really like the results I got from them though. I shot them at reefs, fish and stingrays over white sand and they really did make a nice even flash. However, I did noticed that they are about 2 stops of light loss. Now in most conditions thats not really a problem but in the clear water with strong ambient light I really had the run the strobes up to get good results against the ambient light. Now I could have lowered the ISO and aperture but I like to have more of a natural water color. But overall I'll be using these a lot in the future.
  3. Well they're fantastic! I think I'm going to have to give that a try.
  4. Great images. What shutter speed were you using for the motion blur?
  5. So I'm selling this because my wife doesn't want to use the Inon strobes so this has never been used. I tried it once in the pool and it has sat since. So what comes with it is the snoot, the Inon Z330 mount, the Marelux soft diffuser, 2 Sea Life battery and charger. Total from Bluewater was $703.90 Looking for $400/OBO including shipping for CONUS and split shipping for international.
  6. @Alex_Mustard I just wanted to say thank you for the series. The videos have been great and look forward to watching them again. I especially enjoyed the last two series on lighting. The demonstrations were a great visual aid and I look forward to trying some of them in a couple of weeks in Little Cayman.
  7. Yeah none of the links worked but I found a work around. Streaming now. Thanks
  8. So has anyone signed up for this? I signed up for it and paid but There's no link in my account/programs and I've heard nothing back after emailing support as for getting access. Anyone else having this problem?
  9. I think until they come up with a better lens in the mid range I'm just going to have to keep my Canon 5D4 and use the Sony for everything else.
  10. I have a set of these for my Z330's but have yet to use them. I'm going to try them next month on a Cayman trip.
  11. Thank you both for that. I was also considering waiting for the A1m2 but nothing on the horizon yet. Like Chip I struggle with the autofocus of my A7R3. I don't shoot video or APS-C so those aren't a concern. Shutter speed is one of the features but more than anything it's the autofocus because I want to do more macro. My cameras now do well shooting WA especially with the WACP it makes it even easier. Chip, when you used both did you notice any difference between the two for the autofocus?
  12. So I'll be upgrading this year and wanted some feedback from users. I have a Sony A7R3 and I want the better focusing of the newer models. I'm not to concerned between the two for megapixels because they are both up there. I like the A1 shutter speed but is there a big difference between the two as far as autofocus speed? Also any other thoughts. Oh and can the record button be reassigned both since I don't shoot video?
  13. I use the Canon 8-15mm fisheye on my Sony with a Nauticam 230 dome and a Metabones adapter. I have both the version IV and V. Can't say I see much of a difference in speed but maybe a little faster with the V.
  14. this is great. lkeep us posted. I want to try this also on my Sony.
  15. Issac thanks for that. I think I'm going to go for it. As for black water I'd probably just use focus peaking if the lens is that slow. I'd rather take a lot of shots then get frustrated waiting for it to focus. Just a thought.
  16. I'm probably going to try both the Sony 50mm and the Canon 60/Metabones since I have both a Sony and Canon see how it works.
  17. I put up the Sony 50mm macro only because I saw it listed on Nauticam's port chart for full frame. I'd never heard of anyone using it so I thought I'd ask. I have a Canon 5Dmk4 but I'm trying to move away from the DSLR.
  18. Has anyone used a Sony 50mm macro or Canon 60mm macro on Sony FF for macro or blackwater shooting? I'm looking for a medium length macro for my Sony FF. Any feedback welcomed.
  19. I agree with the above posts. I started with a APS-C and now mainly shoot FF. My Sony/Nauticam is a lot smaller than my Canon 5DMk4/Nauticam and only a little larger than my Canon M50ii/Nauticam. I think with new lenses not really being released that are good for underwater the Nauticam lens route seems to be the best way to go. The Sony 28-60mm is a small and cheap lens but behind the WACP-1 it's amazing and extremely versatile. And Nauticam seems to be doing a lot of development around this lens.
  20. I'm thinking about using one of my wifes' purses. They are big enough and the amount of crap she can carry in it will blow your mind. lol I have a Cinebags XL too. It's nice but I also have an AO cooler bag that is no frills and pretty heavy duty. We got it for shore diving Bonaire. Trying to walk in and out of some of the rocky beaches with large camera gear is too much of a risk. Did it one year and damaged some gear. Now one holds the cameras in the water while to other goes out, takes off their gear then comes back in with the padded bag and floats the camera to the shore.
  21. Awesome! I was running out of stuff to watch...
  22. Phil, any chance they are going to be making any warming filters to bring the color temp down to around 4600k? Also I already have the Soft Pro, will there be a built in bayonet so no adapter will be needed?
