  1. At the diamond iceberg Anna, the freediver, oriented on my safety line that leads her to the icehole. We had no safety divers. It was just Anna and me. I was on scuba and watched her carefully as she was going up and the guy on the ice got a briefing what to do in case of a black out. Anyhow, it is a very impressive performance, mentally and phsycologically. Imagine beeing in minus degree C water temp under ice on a breathhold, finding the way back to the icehole, first searching for me in this twilight, looking where the safety line is pointing, maybe you cant see it right away, trusting this is the proper way back. At the big iceberg on some spots the chunks of ice were so packed she cant move them away, she had to swim further and try it again. She is something!
  2. Hi, a short video from my trip to North Carolina. Amazing fish life down there, but not lucky with the weather unfortunately. Six days got cancelled, i only did 10 dives in 5 days. Thats the outcome
  3. Yes they do! I can´t remember and didn´t watch the test again....do they also have this sharp edge of the light beam? The BigBlues have it, i remember. Thats something i personally don´t like. Also the button operating on XLight and BigBlue compared to Keldans twist thing.

  11. Actually thats it, almost. You need the operator which takes you and the drill to the spot on a skidoo or ATV. And its more convinient if that guy also pulls you out of the water and hold the safety rope too, if you want a safety line. At the big iceberg we had no hole and no safety line, because the water gap was next to the iceberg. This huge iceberg was not a usual divespot. We did the shot only as long as the freediver was not freezing. If this iceberg had broken or rolled i cant writes these lines. The risk during winter is not that high like in summer, but it exists. Its was a unique opportunity to dive at such a hugh iceberg and Sven from Northern Explorers had the idea. The day before Anna, the freediver, slided through an open water gap next to a small iceberg. Sven thought thats a unique chance to get in the water at the big one too. Anna was on fire - i had my concerns, but she said i HAVE to film her - i couldnt refuse
  12. Thank you Davide! It was like someone drilled a hole in the iceberg and put a spotlight in
  13. Hi, i want to share a video from my latest trip to Greenland with you The professional freediver Anna von Bötticher and I spent a tour in East Greenland and dived unique icebergs. An iceberg was crystal clear and gave a utopian impression underwater. At another iceberg we went into the water right next to a huge iceberg at the narrow gap that is created by the tides. It was great, almost endless visibility and a great atmosphere. Read more in the Youtube description and watch it till the end, its not 2:22 long! Alex.
  14. @Davide DB...you ask me questions... I never took CAF or AF in consideration nor I used it on the Komodo. I move the camera or I MF constantly at some moving objects
  15. A large belly bag can be very useful too. I pack mine with 3-4kg of camera stuff
  16. I did a 9days Channel Islands liveaboard with Truth Aquatics. In terms of planning, this was the easiest way for me. I found out at the time that providers only offered diving trips on the weekends
  17. Great footage! I wished i had get such mass aggregations
  18. Absolutely, i always was happy to get in the water and warm my toes 😁 they were my weak point
  19. Thank you very much for your comments! It took me a long time finding suitable tracks. I tried several ones in several different edits. In the end i used two different songs in the edit, but they match perfect together
  20. Thank you very much! You are right, this neoperen is more flexible, therefore its easier to take deep breaths. The costs differ in how you like to do it and what you prefer of course. There are plenty of operators on the market.
  21. The later in the season the shorter the days and less light, but the chance of more Orcas and whales
  22. Hi, please watch my recent video from my trip to Norway below. Some facts and additional shots are covered in this Waterpixels article: https://waterpixels.net/articles/travel/snorkeling-with-orcas-in-norway-r38/
  23. I did a video light test a few years ago. Have a look maybe it brings light into the darkness
