My experience so far-D500 to Z8
Hey @JohnD , a fellow ink-stained Tri-X developing wretch here. I miss it, most days. Shooting underwater is so very different, but I love it. A great challenge. I'm trying to learn more video, though I never thought I would, and many of the folks here clearly know their stuff. I sit at their feet, trying to learn stuff.

Aloha Kieran! Sounds like an honorable and poverty-inducing endeavor! Several of us will have our fingers crossed with hopes that we can say we knew you when, however.

Beginner question about wet optics and optical zoom
The Nauticam setup sounds great for wide and the occasional macro photo. @dhaas quite likes it. But I think you're stuck not being able to access longer focal lengths. I might consider a Seafrogs housing and a macro lens if I were in the same situation. seafrogsR50

Very nice images! And cooperative models, too!

Hello from Stockholm
Aloha and welcome! I, too, was a bad wetpixeler. I have emerged from the shadows to be mercilessly critiqued and corrected by way too many smart people here.

Hello New to Forum from North Carolina
Aloha and welcome Jeanie! I think you're going to find the OM-1 is easier in so many ways. And, like using film underwater, get close!

Looking for input on small strobe for a lightweight rig
I've used the MF-1 and the Inon S2000 trying to lessen the load, but I keep going back to a single Inon Z-240. Slightly bulkier body but easy to handle and good enough power for my needs. Sounds like the single Retra may also be the way to go!

Eneloop Pro Accu issue
I, too, have used both the standard Envelops and the pros, with BQ-CC55 chargers and Inon strobes. I've had no issues.

Greetings from Ireland
I think Hawaii is underrated. There are a lot of creatures - about 25 percent are endemic. It's nice that you can dive somewhere pretty much every day.

Nauticam newest MFO-1
Thanks Bill. In the first series, I think the first photo is with MFO - a little more magnification and sharp. The second series of the sea cucumber has some fall off of sharpness and a bit more magnification. How was the MFO in giving you working distance at the far end? Just over a meter, by spec? (Side note - all the cameras I've used have had some difficulty locking focus on smooth nubbly pink phyllidias. It's probably me and my eyesight.)
