I would agree with @Oren Noah that checking with your wife's OB should guide your travels. Pregnancy is also a risk for deep vein thrombosis (DVT). If everything checks out as low risk, then much of the advice given above is spot on, especially deep into the 2nd trimester when things should be in cruise control.

Yes, Sony would be the exception. That little strobe does look like something that will work if it fits.

If you're in a hurry to turn off strobes, you might just pull the fiber optic cable. Usually I have enough time to turn off both if you're thinking about shooting existing light.

As others have noted, a luggage scale and a large bucket is de rigueur. If you're interested in Stix floats on ULCS type arms, the "jumbo" floats are 181g, and the "large" floats are 96g each. They look cheap in photos, but they're durable and infinitely adjustable. And you might need buoyancy for the macro port if you add a flip diopter holder.

Aloha and welcome. This doesn't seem to change the game much. It's expensive, fits the usual suspects, and is big and bulky.

I think both would be nice. You get to see how a creature moves, and it may allow for seeing it from other angles.
