Super stuff Christian! That Trioplan is manual focus? Also, did that fit easily into your existing ports?

The step up from the TG models is a cliff. Bring a parachute. I've heard that the R50 is quite good - its size and focusing ability, plus with Canon's renown color science. But when you add strobes, everything gets bigger and bulkier, including the TG series (which I quite like). You might consider strobes such as the Inon S-220 and Backscatter MF-2 (TTL exposure with Olympus) both of which have smaller footprints. One strobe for a smaller footprint, and two if you want to be like everybody else. One flash can make some nice photos, however.

@vkalia I like your thinking. I've always liked the idea of streamlining things, and if you use one system above water, and can make that work unter wasser, bravo! That said, I have twinges of regret moving away from Olympus. Great small system, and super for long telephoto wildlife. I'm with Sony now, but it's like a third spouse - fast, tight and lovely - but never like the first love that forever haunts you. Oh, Canon FD, how I miss thee.

@reubencahn The early DSLRs almost required use of a accessory viewfinder, but have you considered shooting without one? The live view features of most current mirrorless cameras are pretty good. Does your wife shoot using the viewfinder or the monitor?
