Hi everyone.

 

Stored my hero 6 black for about a month.

Tried turning on / charge - no red light or charging and camera won't turn on even when plugged in.

 

Naturally this model is old - but my Isotta case is for hero 6 so will be difficult to replace that one.

Anyone encountered that? really hard catching the GoPro support - perhaps need to jump start the battery pack?

Sounds like the battery has failed.  Or will GoPros work without a battery?

I have a GP5 and a GP11. Both start with an external power supply but IIRC the GP5 wants a working battery inside.

So as Tim suggested, it could be a dead battery.

 

I'll try to borrow from someone to verify.

Sadly the above regarding GP5 isn't mentioned anywhere by GoPro.

Don't you a friend who can borrow you a battery to test?

IIRC Gopro batteries are the same until the GP9/10

Update - tried with a GoPro 8 blue battery.

The battery fits in my GoPro 6 - but the camera wont' turn on.
