Litos Posted February 3 Posted February 3 (edited) I am thinking on getting a snoot. I already have an AOI Q1RC , so getting the AOI snoot will be cheap. However it seems to be just a 'duct with a hole' with no optical concentration. How does it compare with MF2? Is the focusing led usable? Edited February 3 by Litos
bvanant Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Get the MF. No optical concentration and the LED is very weak. Bill 2 1

Hi Litos, if you have a AOI Q1RC, there is an adapter made by Flex-Arm that allow you to utilise the snoot from Backscatter . https://www.flex-arm.com/it/flash/snoot-flash-subacquei/flex-arm-adattatore-per-flash-aoi-ucs-q1rc-per-snoot-backscatter.html So you can utilise your flash AOI and the backscatter snoot. 1 1

Giancarlo M. Posted February 4 Posted February 4 (edited) I was able to try the AOI strobe + snot Backscatter MF2 combination on my last trip to Anilao, with the adapter made by Flex-Arm. Everything works perfectly, plus the combination performs better, compared to the original, as Aoi has slightly more power and more battery life. Edited February 4 by Giancarlo M. 3 2
Litos Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 Giancarlo, this is very interesting. Knowing that the OS1 works well with the AOI focusing leds was my only concern. For the Flex-arm adaptor, I think can 3D print myself.. The other option I find for the AOI is getting the Snooty snoot, but it is pricier.
