chemsdiving Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Hi! I'm looking to equip my newly acquired Nauticam housing with a vacuum valve. I found the Isotta 16 and was wondering if it would be compatible with the Nauticam housing for the Canon R6 II.
TimG Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I can't comment on the Isotta 16 but have you had a look at the Vivid Leak Sentinel V5 or V6? I've used the Leak Sentinels for about 15 years, starting with the V3, and have found them very good. They're adaptable to most housings. I use them on a Subal. 1

Just in case you did not know so far, otherwise ignore: the Nauticam housings, as you buy them, usually have all the required electronics built in already. The only item required in addition is the mechanical valve plus the pump. When going for another vacuum system, one has to acquire another, complete, system. I would not bother to do so, I find this too roundabout (but I did not compare the prices, maybe one could save a few $$)... Wolfgang 1

Wolfgang Thanks, Wolfgang 🙂 The electronics are pre-installed in the housing, as you mentioned, and if I understood correctly, the valve is the only missing piece. This is why I’m leaning toward the Isotta, as it’s a pull-to-"release" vacuum valve and not a push, like the one from Nauticam. The price is about 50% lower in Isotta’s favor too 🙂. 1
bvanant Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago It will likely work fine. There is no magic in the valve, but if you flood I suspect Nauticam will say it was the valve's fault Bill
Chris Ross Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago The valves will both have an m16 thread, the only thing that might be different could be placement of the o-ring so that it contacts the seating surface correctly.
