Hybrid Flash Snoot Review

Featured Replies

Great Job and some very inspirational imaging in the video!

The complete system is quite a canon though. 😂

Question:

I noticed the test person shooting the OS-3 most times had two aiming lights coming out of the OS-3. Could you find out if it the HF-1 was used in spot-light mode or will the flood light also produce these two beams?

Furthermore, can the crossing of these two beams (paralax) be used for something, such as finding the optimal working distance for the OS-3 + HF-1 ? I assume this would be where the beams cross?

Thanks for the kind words! It’s definitely a substantial-looking rig, but it's surprisingly nimble once you're under the surface and incredibly easy to handle. Plus, the sheer power of the Hybrid Flash is a total game-changer—it’s amazing how much reach you have to light subjects from a distance.

To answer your questions:

Yes, we were using the spot beam. You're exactly right—where those two beams merge is the optimal working distance for the OS-3, which is 7.8 inches (200mm).
