Will Greene Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Hi all, I'm Will, a coral ecologist and photographer working for the Perry Institute for Marine Science in The Bahamas and a PhD student at Arizona State University. I've been an underwater photographer for about 15 years (since I was 12!) and my job and research mostly involves underwater photogrammetry and aerial remote sensing for coral reef monitoring. For my research and personal underwater photography, I primarily use Sony full frame cameras and adapted Nikonos lenses (15mm primarily, but also the 20mm, 80mm, and the Sea&Sea 12mm fisheye). In terms of pure rectilinear image quality, usefulness of large apertures, and size, there's nothing that can compete with the Nikonos 15mm once you get it properly adapted on a digital underwater camera! If anybody has questions about underwater photogrammetry or getting old Nikonos manual focus lenses to work properly on Sony/Nauticam systems, don't hesitate to reach out! Best, Will 2
