Ready to test in water - n120 Port Extensions for Nauticam Housings
Pressure testing an end cap is very different than the extension ring; the forces will cause different stresses and deflections between the two. The pressure on the end cap will deflect the sides out and if you get a leak, you will not know if the seal was broken due to the cap's deflection. Also, the ring can withstand much higher forces since they will be compressive and bending forces are not involed. But if the test doesn't fail, you will know the ring design is good. When I ran a pressure test on a housing in the past, I tied it to a line and dropped it off my kayak in the ocean. After a while, I pulled it up, saw no leaks, and called it good. I tested it deeper than what I was willing to dive to. Ben

Canon R6 Mark III might fit in R6 II underwater housings and natevily offers now X-Sync speed of 1/320
Here is and interesting YouTube video which overlays a 3d scan of both the Mkii and Mkiii so that you can visualize the size changes. Also, this short shows how the viewfinder top is larger and my interfer with other housings. Ben

Qustion about magnifier handle for reefnet subsee
Years ago, when I bought my magnifier, I bought the 'handle' for the same reason as you. What I have is really just a collar with wrist strap and fits with both end caps on. Ben

O ring maintenance question
I have a question to those who do not remove their orings: How do you store your housings/strobes/flashlights? I have always removed the orings, cleaned everything, installed old orings and closed it up. The 'working' orings are kept in a sealed container and using the old orings, they keep the seal surfaces clean and protected. I am concerned that the orings can take a set/deform if kept clamped in place. Ben

Hello from California
I migrated here from WetPixels a while ago and am finally posting here for the first time. I am a long time underwater shooter and recently housed my R6 MkII in an Isotta housing (with old Sea&Sea ports). I have my macro lens set (EF 100mm f/2.8L) but still working out the wide angle setup. I have test shots in a tank using my RF 24mm f/1.8, RF 14-35 f/4L, and even the RF 24-105 f/4-7.1 to test extensions behind a 210mm dome port but not many real shots. The pool is cold (northern California) so that may have to wait until spring. Ben
