  1. Did you take all that photos with similar settings? What was the white balance?
  2. I ordered stix floats, but they delivery seriously delayed. I need to find some solution for an upcoming trip. I definitely give that material a try. I found that material may have compressive strength from 0.15 to 0.5 MPa (1.5-5 bar), but I don't know what kind of material I have. So wish me luck.
  3. Can expanded polystyrene withstand 30 meter depth?

  6. 2200 mAh sounds totally legit. I guess 3600 model number it's rounded mWh.
  7. I don't believe it. We need some tests to confirm it's capacity. For what I know best 14500 (AA) Li-Ion batteries have around 1000 mAh. At 3.7V it's 3.7 Wh but the ad stated it's 4.89 Wh. The battery inside should be shorter than 50 mm to leave a space for a voltage stabilizer and charging circuit. So in my guess 1320 mAh for the lithuim inside is a scam. I've found 14430 with 1050mAh capacity and it's 3.78 Wh https://keeppower.com/product/keeppower-14430-1050mah-protected-li-ion-rechargeable-battery-p1443c3/ And another 14430 with 1300 mAh and it's 4.81 Wh https://www.akkuteile.de/en/lithium-ionen-battery/size-14430_100212_3661 So it looks possible if not take to account losses on DC-DC transformation. But it has low constant discharge current, so I think it would have low max pulse current.
  8. White fins and buddy's aluminum cylinder which is gray. In video mode white balance must be set before shooting. If you really want to get technically accurate colors you can use cheap and large color checker analogues. But I think it would be inconvinient to carry and use during a group dive.
  9. I decided to buy a pair of Sea&Sea YS-D3 DUO. Would it be better to use 5-pin sync cable for manual only operation? Would it be reliable? I just don't want to deal with extra piece of equipment with battery inside my housing for optical triggering. My housing has a 5-pin socket.
  10. I've found that SnS DS-TTL works as INON S-TTL https://www.inon.jp/technicalguide/sttl-auto.html So it seems like a better choise for TTL and manual for cameras with built in flash. But mine Seafrogs optical trigger doesn't work with TTL signal, unfortunately.
  11. Thank you. I've seen these pictures before, but I haven't seen the actual result.
  12. How does the position of the dome's center relative to the lens center affect the image? What will the effect be and how pronounced is it? I saw a YouTube video by Alex Mustard where he said that if positioned incorrectly, a 230mm dome will be as soft in the corners as a 160mm canopy. Is that the only effect? There's also a small 8" dome from Ikelite, which is part of an 8" hemispherical dome. Its center is clearly not aligned with the center of the lens, but no one has ever complained about the photo quality.
  13. @Chris Ross I use Canon R8 with 15-30 & 100 mm lenses inside Seafrogs housing. Holiday diver, so don't want to invest much.
  14. Hi everyone! Has anyone used these flashes? Are they good to start with? I'm planning on getting two for WA & macro. There are not much information about it on the internet. One day diving I met a guy who used one SF-01 strobe for his TG-7, but we didn't have enough time to talk to find out more about the strobe. Is it worth it's money? I'm afraid this is the only readily available option for me. Another option is Sea&Sea YS-D3 DUO. Does Sea&Sea TTL work from the box with 5-pin connector? I like that SF-01 uses 18650 batteries, but on the surface I found it better to use TTL in most cases, and I think it would be better underwater too. I use Canon R8 with 15-30 & 100 mm lenses inside Seafrogs housing. What are your thoughts?
  15. Hello guys! It's been a while since I last visited the forum. I forgot to thank you all, so thank you for the advices :) @Hadley England the camera fits perfectly as the RP and R8 have the same body. But there's two little modifications should be made. Because the position of on/off switch is different you should remove excess material from the area marked green to allow correct rotation angle and enlarge a bit groove marked orange for firm contact with the switch then all will be ok this housing does not have focus rings for RF lenses, but you could adapt EF 16-35 f/4 ring for RF 15-30 and RF 24-105 f/4 (not usable one underwater) using some secret filing techniques I use this housing with 37 mm extension ring and 6" acrylic dome port and seafrogs aluminum handles. In the Red Sea this setup needs additional 2 kg of led and it has slightly negative bouyancy. The downsides of this housing in my opinion are: lack of control ring near the shutter botton, but you can set custom meny to quickly change function of your aperture ring big distance from the rear of housing to the screen Lens MFD is 28 cm and it cannot focus closer than 11 cm from the dome. So maybe RF 14-35 f/4 in a 8" dome will be a better choice. For ~900 USD it's a good bargain.
  16. They said they haven't tested other lesnes. Positions of lenses specified in that chars are as follows: Almost like those RF lenses I mentioned earlier.
  17. Actually RP housing. Sea Frogs don't have separate R8 housing. RP and R8 shares the same body so you can use it for both cameras. Picture from their official site.
