Backscatter MF-2 Remote trigger vía MF-1
JS1221 replied to wetdreams's topic in Lights, Strobes, and Lighting Technique
I was able to trigger my MF-2 with the MF-1 in my living room, but I did not try it underwater. I don’t know about changing the power in remote mode though.- 4 replies

I was looking at the Zen WA-100 for the Panasonic 7-14mm to use on an upcoming trip to Cuba and then Fiji. I have the AOI 8" dome already, which works with this lens but it is large to travel with. According to the AOI Pen chart, that dome is the only AOI dome that works. In another thread on Scubaboard the OP posted he had used the 24mm Extension Ring and the DLP-06 4" dome, which is the same combination used for the Olympus 8mm Fisheye, and gotten good results. Has anyone else tried this combination with the Panasonic 7-14mm and what were your results?

I spoke to the Nauticam rep at DEMA and he did not have a release date yet, only saying it might be before the end of the year.

Sorry that happened to you. I normally carry most my camera gear in a backpack, so that will not be changing. Did you have any problems with them trying to tax your camera gear? I got hit twice in Cabo, and have heard it is now occurring in Cancun. I got another e-mail saying Cozumel has been taxing laptops and dive computers. I get more reluctant to go to Mexico each year.

Did you fly directly into Cozumel? I'm headed there next month and would like to avoid that issue.

Monitor Showing Live View is Too Dark
JS1221 replied to brightnight's topic in Photography Gear and Technique
Olympus has the same feature, it's called Live View Boost. When it's turned on you get a bright display, regardless of what the camera setting are. I looked through the menu of my Canon T5i but I did not see anything similar, but it is an older camera. -
Seeking Olympus TG on-line course

Have you watched the collection of video covering the TG series on Backscatter.com? -
Does anyone use the CMC-1 with the AOI M67 Flip Adapter? I just got the CMC-1 but when I try to use it with the flip adapter it will not screw all the way down without hitting the port. I can use the Nauticam adapter and attach it directly to the port without a problem, but I'd like to be able to flip it out of the way when needed.

I can no longer connect to Wetpixel.com via my mobile or desktop. Did it finally come to an end?

Bought from another WaterPixel member but ended up not using it. Asking $650.00, plus shipping. US only.

You got a little more than that out of the sale because I kept buying items from you. LOL One of the reasons I bought from Chip though, was because there was a great communication process. He responded in a timely manner, provided pictures and even discussed settings that worked best for him. We had 4 pages of discussions about the camera, the lens and underwater photography in general. I knew I was dealing with someone who was experienced and knew what they were talking about. I felt extremely comfortable dealing with him and that is important, especially in this day and age. Communication in sales cannot be understated.

I have the AC750, which I got about 3 years ago. It’s available on Amazon. -

I have a File Hub travel router that does what you are looking for. It connects to an app on your phone (I have an iPhone) via a wifi connection the router creates. There is a slot for an SD card, a USB slot and a USB-C slot. You can just plug the SD card in and the SSD, then use the app to transfer the files. I used to use it before I started taking my laptop on trips. It's not super fast but it worked. -
I've been watching a number of video lately about doing a manual white balance before shots. I've always shot just using the Auto White Balance (I shoot an Olympus TG-6 and E-M10 MarkIV). I just started using Lightroom Classic last year and discovered I could adjust the white balance there and it really made a difference in many of my photos. Is a difference in Manual WB as opposed to adjusting the WB in post processing? Will one produce better results?

I'm having to replace my YS-01 strobe because it flooded under the front lens on my last dive. There is no damage, no visible cracks and the lens is tight in place. I was told it could be micro cracks or it could have leaked in from the knobs. Max depth on the dive was only 20 feet. I'm looking at the INON S-220 now.

Thanks. If things work out I'll be flying to meet up with another group but I'll be there a day early and was hoping to dive BHB that day too. If that is is the case I'll reach out to Scuba_Jenny.

We’re in Texas so it’s a road trip for us. I might make it down there towards the end of February though, if things work out.
-
Fantastic pictures. I keep trying to get my dive group to go to BHB, but they think they need to travel outside the US to see anything cool. I'll show them your pictures, they will definitely change their minds.
