Canon 70D package with lenses and  Aquatica housing with ports for macro, super macro and wide angle

This is a very comprehensive yet simple to operate underwater photography system that produces high quality 20.2 MP images. Fast and accurate autofocus and reliable TTL via the pop-up flash are features of this setup. The system is turnkey for ambient light exposure. Otherwise you just need to add arms and strobes. Everything is in excellent working order.  It consists of the following components:

Canon 70D body

20.2 MP APS-C Dual Pixel CMOS AF sensor, 1080p video

Like new, In original box with battery, charger and all accessories.

Aquatica A 70D housing

Used in very good working condition, Never flooded, Regular maintenance and care

For Canon 70D, but also works with Canon 80D with minimal modification

Handles, O rings, tools, spares and manual included

One bulkhead configured for optical strobe connection. One or two strobes can be connected via fiberoptic cords. Easy and accurate TTL flash exposure with optical strobe connection

One bulkhead configured for standard N5 Nikonos electrical strobe connection

Easy quick release camera tray. A spare is included if you have a second camera body

Large ergonomic and easy to operate controls for all the necessary camera functions

Aquatica Surveyor moisture and vacuum control circuitry. Pressure valve and pump included. In addition a  Vivid Leak Sentinel V4 has been installed.

( Note: I replaced the Aquatica Surveyor pressure valve with the Leak Sentinel as I found it more convenient to not have to open the housing to turn on vacuum monitoring. The way it is now you could use either system or even both at the same time. )

Lenses:

Canon 17-40 mm EF F4/L . Very good working condition. Clean glass. Caps, shade included. Zoom gear for housing included. +2 Hoya close up diopter included for best image quality

Canon 60mm EF-S F/2.8 macro.  Excellent condition. With caps.  A small and lightweight but amazing macro lens, Autofocus is extremely fast and accurate and image quality is outstanding. Capable of life size magnification by itself.

Subsee +10 “wet” diopter. 67mm thread . With caps. In good condition. Attaches to macro port with included Howshot holder which allows the diopter to simply swing out of the way when not required

Ports:

Aquatica compact macro port 18429. Excellent condition . Comes with Neoprene port cover. For Canon 60mm EF-S

Aquatica 8 inch Acrylic Dome Port 18405 with dome shade and neoprene port cover. In excellent condition. Has the tiniest of scratches on surface, but will definitely not effect image quality. Works with many wide angle lenses including the Canon 17-40mm lens

PS I have been a member of Wetpixel (and now Waterpixel ) since its early days. I have bought and sold many underwater photography items over the years and have always had good feedback.

A note about this DSLR system compared to mirrorless:

I “upgraded” to mirrorless a few years ago, I got a Canon R5 and a Aquatica AR5 housing for it. Had to be better right? My experience however hasn’t  been that. If there is a benefit at the end of the day, it is almost imperceptible and comes at a huge price and with a very significant learning curve. I missed TTL, the simple quick macro autofocus, had overheating issues in the housing to mention just a few. I have since ironed out some of the problems, but considering the cost of the upgrade, new lenses, mount adaptors, rings and ports, I would have to say the upgrade is not worth it for underwater photography. There have been many threads about this topic and many pros and experienced uw photogs share my views. So I part sadly with this system but I can only manage to travel with one system nowadays. Hopefully it finds a good home and saves the buyer a few thousand bucks 😊

Seems a great package (that also fit 80D)!

On the R5 - since am also a user of Aquatica (80D/50D), i move to Canon R7 (Nauticam now) and it worth every penny in comparison to 80D.

Just keep it as backup system.
