Valerie Wrede
I've been diving since 2009, got certified in the Red Sea - currently live in Seattle, WA area in the USA and dive cold water often & love taking warm water trips!! Did my 1000th dive at Lembeh two years ago (quit counting after that...) and traveling to Anilao, Philippines in two weeks. My progression over past 7 years has been GoPro to TG5 to TG6 to Panasonic GH5 with Nauticam housing. Below is my YouTube channel 🙂 The electronics for the water sensor in my Nauticam Housing have been malfunctioning, and I've sent it to Backscatter twice in the last 2 months, but still malfunctioning and now leaving for Philippines in two weeks. Messaged them again today but they're closed til Monday. I tried to post in classified to see if anyone selling or has a housing I could buy, but I'm a 'polyp' so can't post there yet, so I'm introducing myself. Thanks, and I'm looking forward to being part of the Waterpixel community! https://www.youtube.com/@scubav5371 (my most popular video but not my favorite - it's on my original YouTube channel) Edited Sunday at 02:20 AM by Valerie Wrede posted prior to finishing and including links
humu9679
@Valerie Wrede Welcome to Waterpixels! There's a GH5 housing that looks like it's been around the block, but it's on eBay here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/226193953860?_skw=nauticam+gh5&itmmeta=01JAKW2XFYBP2KY2AF228JZNJ2&hash=item34aa35d444:g:~KQAAOSwq39mbIxP&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKnZaXsYRB12tUZVDHHzK9XzJBnAhAZKhvEN0%2Bm2dxC1KuNlDS%2BxWEkL1tW%2BU4gdepD%2B9kTOsGR3sbqPzRvLv%2F8nzF4%2FkisSPFunmUtQ5ZDS%2BpkI%2BAA%2BnMJXuauj%2Bwtg7SuL7TiQuCRrZ3zLNHxOoEf65yGeRv0q3rVgWOSNVnl%2Boi0Ng8zQHQKDF3sfJbFGODJBtnMcwEuV0mtmpqMRSlgW9ctx2gK9mqstE2BwPZjDZ5AvChjTmg%2FHZeSGmN0Wv94%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4bYi_zUZA

bghazzal
Welcome Valerie, lovely vids always great to see more video-inclined people joining up 😄 Best of luck for the GH5 - otherwise changing the entire electronics should solve the issue. cheers ben 1
humu9679
@Valerie Wrede That GH5 housing does look pretty beat up. What’s with the electrics on your housing? Seems to me the housings are mostly mechanical. Just the vacuum or flooding electrics unless I’m missing something.
Davide DB
Last time I sent my GH5 housing to Nauticam for service, it was in that condition. Came back home as brand new and now is starting to resemble that one 😇 1
Valerie Wrede
Thanks! I will send to nauticam for service after returning from my trip. I plan to use ‘as-is’ for upcoming phillipines trip - it’s never flooded, it’s just the electronics for the water sensor that aren’t working, so I just won’t turn them on. Valerie Wrede
Davide DB, how long did it Nauticam take for your GH5 housing service?
Davide DB
IIRC back and forth about one month. But if your only problem is the vacuum circuit I guess Nauticam USA/Backscatter should be able to make such a simple repair. At most it is a matter of replacing the small electronic circuit.
SwiftFF5
When the vacuum system electronics failed in my GH5 housing, as I recall, I sent it to Reef Photo and they had it back very quickly.
