RVBldr Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) I've heard there's a couple of folks using the Nikon 60mm f2.8 ED lens with Monster adaptor for successful blackwater shooting. If so, will that lens and adapter fit with the Nauticam port used with the Sony 90mm macro (N100 Macro Port 105)? The Sony 50mm macro + AC-11 adapter works well, just confirming. From what I see, the Nokon + adapter is 124mm from flange, and the Sony 90mm is 130mm. Edited January 6 by RVBldr
Giancarlo M. Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Hi, I can confirm that the 90's port is compatible with the monster adaptor + Nikon AF-S 60 micro, I recently bought a Sony and have yet to try this combination live and during a blackwater. The recommendation I was given is that the monster adaptor is updated to the latest firmware 6.0. Some Nikon AF-S 60 micro work quite well while others don't, I'm trying to figure out why and am working out a theory. 3 hours ago, RVBldr said: The Sony 50mm macro + AC-11 adapter works well Excuse my ignorance what is the AC-11 adaptor? 1
RVBldr Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 Extension tube for the Sony 50mm to get it a bit closer to the 60mm. Unfortunately, it does limit the focus on that lens.

I it would be good to understand if that's a serial number issue with earlier lens or a more recent issue.

Sfortunatamente, limita la messa a fuoco su quell'obiettivo. To work, it works, but the slowness of the AF is frustrating. For slower subjects it may be fine, but with others it is really challenging For the Nikon 60, I think that the models produced before 2013, we have problems. From those I have tried. The serial numbers that start with 22 or 23 work, those with 20 give problems. For serial numbers 21 or from 24 onwards I have no cases Edited January 6 by Giancarlo M.

Very frustrating for sure. Overall, it does produce nice images, but the slow AF is a killer for blackwater or other quicker animals.
