Strobe Repairs - Inon

Featured Replies

I recently picked up a cheap, "untested", Z-330 and it didn't work on arrival (no surprise!) - but I fancied a project anyway.

I tightened up the "bar" terminal in the battery box and checked for continuity on the inside part of the bolt/nut terminals (behind the glass dome) and it seemed to work after that.

Just wondering if anyone knows whether there is a way to remove the hexagonal terminals to give them a good clean and polish, or even better, get replacement terminals to fit. They seem exactly the same as my D-2000 terminals so I could possibly cannibalize that - but that works fine so I'd prefer to get replacement parts.....if anyone even sells them.

Also......I think it's missing something round in between the 2 terminals - is that something that's essential? Maybe it's a gas release port for if the battery exploded or something? Hopefully it isn't what keeps it waterproof 😁

This battery box is filthy so it definitely had a leak and I guess the previous owner just stripped it for parts like the shade and caps, then got rid of it.

Cheers!

PS. I will clean the battery compartment.....once it's confirmed to be worth keeping!
