I've tried snoot macro shots before with some (minimal) success and feel "aiming" the snoot is most of the battle for me.

On an upcoming trip I should have the ability to do repeated macro dives with super-helpful Indonesian dive guides.
I really appreciated the recent WaterPixels article about making your own fiberoptic cable.
What would be suggested for the optimum length for a fiberoptic cable for the snoot strobe aimed by an "assistant"?

Pretty much as long as you like, Doc. What you don’t use immediately is easily just coiled up by your strobe assistant. Pick a length… 3 feet, 4 feet…. Much depends on the lens and subject and whether yiu want the assistant in the pic too!

I've been using one that is 2m long for years for this type of thing.  I've never felt the need for anything longer.

Thank you everyone for your input.
4 meters of cable ordered - will try a 2m cable for the remotely held snoot/strobe.
