Nauticam USB-C bulkhead mini review
Having now used this for a while (but have not tested getting it wet) I have found it very useful. I have mostly been on little boats and bangkas so have not used it on a boat yet, but really handy for topping off battery between dives or over lunch without having to open housing and swap batteries.

Focus light necessary for macro?
Like Tim said, other than dawn, dusk and night dives, I never needed a focus light with D500 and 60mm macro, but with 105mm on the D500 or Z8, a focus light is useful far more often, as I recently found out. There is a wide range of sizes, features and power available and ulcs has some lightweight mounts that fit almost anything. Not what I use, but I just threw this 120g thing together together to illustrate how small one can go: Orcatorch D560 700 lumen 3.5" light with 14500 battery on a ULCS ball mount. To paraphrase a credit card commercial, What's in your housing cold shoe?

Looking for opinions about wide angle for Dauin
Just to wrap this up, I only took macro stuff and except for just a little bit on APO island, did not miss the wide angle. Unlikely that I would have ever used it. Going back there I would again not take anything but macro stuff. But the MFO-3 was very useful.

Thanks. I believe I have sourced one from another member here.

HowShot dome ports
Out of curiosity I looked at the dome on the Divervision page. It appears to me that the length of the port is greater than the Nauticam and The length of the dome may be such that you don't need an extension ring, as is required for the same port from Nauticam, potentially resulting in even greater savings. I could certainly be wrong about that.

HowShot dome ports
Considering the cost of the Nauticam dome, I would probably go that route myself.

HowShot dome ports
How is your Chinese? https://www.facebook.com/groups/cghdivephoto/ I am not sure Howshot is even a real "brand" as we in the West would think of it, as opposed to a product line by some unidentified manufacturer in China. I have never seen a Howshot port chart. I have purchased from Divervision from time to time over a number of years and never had a problem. For all I know, Howshot domes are the exact same glass domes used by Nauticam or other well-known companies. They claim to be BK7 optical glass but I have no idea where they are made.... https://www.vyoptics.com/portfolio/china-optical-glass-hemispherical-dome-port-bk7-glass-dome-lens/ https://www.saidaglasses.com/glass-bk7/ https://www.chinax.com/optical-glasslenses/pz7645a13-optically-clear-bk7-glass-optical-dome-for-underwater-camera-housings.html

Qustion about magnifier handle for reefnet subsee

Qustion about magnifier handle for reefnet subsee
It was really a question of letting her use the subsee. She actually has a very good underwater magnifying glass from the Netherlands that she uses a lot but it is quite large and I thought she might enjoy having the subsee as a smaller alternative for some dives, and the idea of a handle that worked with a 67mm diopter seemed like a fairly simple addition. But thank you for the suggestion!

Qustion about magnifier handle for reefnet subsee
That is an interesting idea, although the cost is much higher than reefnet's "handle," whatever that might be. I sent reefnet a request for info and might see what Dave can fabricate.

Qustion about magnifier handle for reefnet subsee
I have seen pictures of that one before On the reefnet website they list a SS-H "handle" and a SS-L "lanyard mount" and I would think your pictures shows the lanyard, but perhaps not. Actually, I just found an ad from a store in the netherlands and describing that as a lanyard mount:

Qustion about magnifier handle for reefnet subsee
I have a +5 I would let her use. Not likely worth finding and buying a +10. I assume the reefnet version it is a handle with a 67mm threaded loupe or circle at the end. I still need to send you a DM on that port float...

HowShot dome ports
Maybe see about moving this to the photography gear category. Might get a wider audience.

Qustion about magnifier handle for reefnet subsee
I could not figure out a better place to put this - I have a reefnet subsee that I don't use much. My wife is not a photographer but likes looking at macro stuff through a magnifier sometimes. I was thinking of getting the magnifier handle from reefnet so she could use my lens, but I have never seen one and cannot find a picture or description online. I am not even sure if reefnet is actually still in business so it may mot matter, although they show these as available on their rarely updated website. Anyone have any info on this thing?

Nauticam back on the compact (sports/action) market (Insta360 X5)
You just have to dive at "periscope depth" and you can shoot on and under the surface simultaneously....

YAFS: new strobe Atom Flash from BACKSCATTER
The Marelux soft snoot has some cool features but I was put off by the price of the 2.0. Also, the aiming light at 500 lumens could be an issue. I was recently trying to use the Retra LSD in some shallow water with a lot of particulate during the day and the 450 lumen aiming light was very hard to see. The mini version of their snoot won't work with he S220, as I understand it.

Float arms, which brands provide good quality at reasonable price?
Very nice. I don't suppose you have extras lying around...😉

Float arms, which brands provide good quality at reasonable price?
On the topic of float belts, I have had issues getting the Stix float belt to stay in place on a couple of Nauticam macro ports and requiring some DIY efforts to keep it still. I see that beneath the surface has different shapes. Anyone able to comment on those shapes fitting on Nauticam 60 (+ 20mm ER), 80 and 87 ports?

Two questions about the Backscatter MF-3 strobe
Makes sense and you are right, can adjust easily enough and less important for macro anyway.

There is also the Marelux flexi buoy: Available in 400, 800 and 1500g of lift. Honestly, when I saw it I was half impressed by the idea and half amused by the idea. Okay, maybe mostly amused. I have never used one nor seen one in use and I cannot quite imagine swimming around with a big green bag floating in front of my face, but it is inexpensive and offers a lot of adjustable buoyancy. I just can't see using the thing, but maybe someone here is familiar with them and can share their experience

The float belt is very commonly used in macro photography, assuming you need so much flotation. It can get in the way of strobe placement if you like to put your strobes next to and parallel to the port, but moving them out or tilting them gets around that. I often use two Nauticam or Inon float arms off the camera housing and next are two arms with Stix floats and that is sometimes enough or gets me close. You may wish to get a couple longer clams to give you full articulation with the fat floats. If you do not mount a focus light or other accessory on top if the housing, another option some people like is to use triple clamps off the housing and then run a smaller diameter float arm across the top of the housing. I have never been fond of that, but some like it. It sounds like this would not work for you, though. The belt should not be much of a problem as far as placement on the sand for a low angle, I would think, although I don't think I have ever done that, so I could be wrong. I am pretty sure if I was THAT low, my reg would be in the sand as well.
