Having a strange issue with my Nauticam / Canon 5Diii setup. And I can't seem to replicate it on dry land. The trigger stops firing when the camera is horizontal and level underwater. If i tilt the camera up or down the trigger fires and, it works with the camera in portrait.. just not flat and level. It's not the fibre as I unplugged these to see the red leds firing. Not sure if it's an issue with the camera, the hot shoe or the trigger itself.

Anyone ever heard of this issue?

That is very weird! I’m sure you’ve thought of cleaning the contacts, checking the wires for fraying or breaks and bad connections, then swapping triggers and/or cameras. Canon’s contacts are much sturdier than Sony’s, for instance, so less likely the camera. Keep us posted!

I saw one where the wires inside the hotshoe were frayed creating a short. Open the hotshoe connector to inspect. First look for loose solder connections on the circuit board, hotshoe wire bundle, and battery.

I think I may have found the issue, the little 45° mirror inside the housing was a bit loose/sliding around. Secured it with some good old double sided tape. Diving this evening so fingers crossed!
