Thank you for this nice vido... some very nice sequences... I like the result

You have a lot of frog fish with open mouth... I never catch a picture of that.... Your was lucky or there is a methode to make the Frog fish open his mouth ?

There is no method but rather a "feeling" : if you see through your finder that the frogfish is very slightly moving its jaw like chewing on something, there are chances it will yawn within the next 2-3 minutes, it is then worth waiting. Hint : the second yawn is always more spectacular than the first one.

If the froggy is quite cool and relax then it will not yawn.

Each froggy has a different personnality, some will yawn others won't : I would say roughly 1 out of 10 is a potential yawner.

Beautiful - nicely shot and edited. You captured Anilao’s greatest hits. I especially liked the painted frogfish on the run. I miss the diving there a lot so thanks for the chance to revisit virtually.

@CaolIla and @Luko There isn't a method - I was lucky. Each time, I happened to be filming the frogfish and it suddenly yawned. I hadn't ever seen one take flight and swim so far like that one. Thanks!

@Maria Munn I used Panasonic GH5ii, nauticam housing, sola video lights (sad they're out of business now), snoot, & olympus 60mm, 50-12mm, & 8 mm fisheye lens.

Great video of some amazing wildlife antics. Looking forward to getting to Crystal Blue in 2027.
