  1. I've had pretty good luck with the DivTek brank on Aliexpress. Only complaint is the anodizing on the balls isn't as strong as ULCS or Nauticam. I also have a set of ULCS float arms but they don't have the lift for my housing. Too bad since they are bomb proof.
  2. If he wants that port and gear I'm going to sell mine. Was going to package it with a GH4 and housing but I could sell separately. You'd need the 45 port for the shorter macros.
  3. Bayonet caddies are pretty much the answer.
  4. I'd trade my 65 for the 45 and extension?
  5. Yeah I was talking with the seller about it and I get the impression they don't really know what they have, just what it cost new.
  6. There is a port 65 on ebay (not mine)
  7. I'm currently using the rather odd 12-50 kit lens with a diopter and WWL-1 but starting to feel it's limitations. Currently debating between the 30 and 45 macro. The biggest limitation I feel is wide angle.
  8. I think it could be related to the higher voltage of the individual cells compared to NiMH.
  9. If I was him I'd be considering a used M4/3 setup. I recently picked up a EM1-II in a Nauticam housing with lens and port for $1200usd, all it needed was a vacuum valve. It's a generation old but I don't see cameras as having advanced much since then.
  10. Do you find you need at least f14 to get the corners decent as reported for the MWL?
  11. Stopping down that far would be a real non-starter with how little light I have available. I wonder if the Weefine version has the same issues. I assume the MFO-3 works fairly well wide open.
  12. The polycarbonate housings have very poorly made controls. Flexible plastic that don't functional well.
  13. If the aluminum housing has the same buttons and controls as the polycarbonate they would be a pass. Their new monitor is appealing though.
  14. Keep in mind GPOs are deep in a crack around 95% of the time, or are out and huge. You can't predict which one. I wonder how the 45mm would interact with something like the MWL-1? Wider than the MFO-3.
  15. That PowerShot is now much bigger than an action camera and then you add a wet wide lens almost the same size. This is really where the phone comes in these days.
  16. Yes giant Pacific octopus. Although rare to see outside of their dens I would not like being stuck unable to capture them when it happens. I can get very close to the nudibranches so working distance is less of a factor there. Most locals are shooting 50-90mm FF equivalent from what I've seen. The 45mm+mfo and mild diopter combination seems like it might work well? Conversely the 30 and one of the macro wide lenses would give me a fisheye option. I currently have the 65 port, 29 port and I just found a used 45 port so I have options. Most of what I shoot is for social media so cropping isn't the end of the world either.
  17. Phone in a case is as close as you'll get.
  18. Nudibranche longer than 2cm up to octopus. I'm currently using the 12-50 kit lens and use almost the full range often with a UCL-165 but not the built in "macro" mode. Unsure what I'll gain over than combo though.
  19. I'm currently debating my first M43 macro option. It seems like the 60mm will be too long for the local conditions (Vancouver Island BC) unless paired with the MFO-3, a significant cost. I do already have the port for the 60mm though. I'm considering the 30mm Panasonic to start. I'd need a port however.
  20. Washington state and Victoria Canada depending on the week.
  21. Either will work. Perhaps someone has one they can spare.
  22. Welcome from another Victoria based diver!
  23. In my experience the internal touch points start perishing before the buttons have problems. But that is based on buying used housings.
  24. You can get a green light sucking by mouth in a pinch 😅
  25. I'd rather see images which are imperfect and REAL over anything which has been "improved" by AI. I have even less patience for generative AI and the theft it requires. I absolutely hate that I have to distrust everything I see on a screen now.
