  1. Hello World.

I'm a Southern Californa diver and hobby photographer. I'm ideally diving in Cozumel or on a liveaboard somewhere, but I also dive locally here in SoCal. I'm shooting a Sony A7RIV with a Marelux housing and double YS-D2s.
I have proven to myself over and over again that my skills as a photographer is sub-par at best. But I'm addicted to learning....

Hoping to take part in the community.

I feel the “working on the skills” bit!! Curious about what you think of the A7R4 auto focus underwater since I’m thinking about upgrading. Do you use the animal eye feature or the human? How good is it at focusing on large animals like sharks/sea lions? Could I ask ask which wide angle setup you use in terms of lens and/or wet lens? Thanks!!

  2. Hello Wetpixel community!

I am a doctor from the Philippines who had just started underwater photography. Been a diver since 2008.

I tried underwater videography by using my iPhone in a Seafrogs housing. Got hooked and currently trying to create a setup around the Olympus OMD EM5 III.

Looking forward to contribute to the community and learn of everyone’s insights on here. :)

  6. Hello, my name is Bobby Vogt.

I dive locally in CA and the tropics mostly for leisure but I'm also interested in getting more involved with marine conservation projects. In years past, I worked as a scientific diver where I got my start in underwater photography. Most of my experience with photography since then has been topside, but I've started getting more serious about underwater image making. Wetpixel has been such a great resource, and I'm excited to join the community.

My website is www.oxbowphoto.com and instagram handle is bobbyvwildlife

  8. Hiya!! I'm Kate. I come from the States, but I'm currently living and working on Ningaloo reef in Aus. Been exploring the world with photography for well over a decade and delved into underwater photog about 6 years ago. So far in life, I've made a living working as a marine science educator, scuba instructor, and from the eco-tourism industry. The ocean is one of my favorite places to be!

You can find me on insta @kate.e.powell :)

  9. Greetings from Munich, Germany!

I'm a passionate diver who has been exploring the underwater world since 2011 when I and my wife began scuba diving. Ever since we love capturing the beautiful marine life through our camera lenses. We publish our videos and thoughts about ocean-related topics on our blog bluewavefilms.de. Sorry, the very most of the text is in German only, but many of our films have an English voice over or don't need any language at all to show the world that is hiding beneath the surface of our oceans.

For us, diving is not just a hobby, but a way of life. And almost every vacation turns into an expedition and is spent underwater.

I have known wetpixel.com for longer than my diving career but didn't join until now. :-)

    Cheers,
    Andreas

  14. Tari (aka IgoCfish) from the DMV area.  Long-time diver getting back into some casual underwater photography after several years of diving sans camera and just enjoying being present on my dives. Loving my new TG-6 with Ikelite housing so far.

  16. I'm Steve & although not new to U/W photography, always keen to learn more & keep abreast of new technology. A lot of my diving is deeper technical stuff & I typically carry a wide angle setup specifically for capturing wrecks. The gear gets a hard time clipped on with sling tanks, but I couldn’t imagine doing these dives without capturing some of the amazing sights

  17. Hello!

Jack here, based in Virginia. Been diving off and on (mostly off) since the 1990's. Have really picked up in recent years with my partner (barring the pandemic). Have been to Cozumel a few times with a regular group, Labuan Bajo, and we have a amazing liveaboard booked for the summer in the Philippines!

Really enjoy the photos here and on the FB page. My partner is the photographer (does it professionally), but I am starting to dabble with video...

    Cheers,

    Jack

  20. Hi All,

Have been a Wetpixel member since 2018, I haven't been active for a while so I guess it's asking me to introduce myself again.. Originally from the UK, I have been living the last 6 years on the Caribbean island of Curacao, and recently moved back to the Netherlands. Before that I was 8 years living and diving in Brunei. The diving here in Europe is a little "different", but no less enjoyable!

Looking forward to getting back in the water with the camera!

    Dave.
