I need inspiration to redo our website!  It was once focused on just underwater photography but now has become the family photo album.  We are just enthusiastic amateurs and it has morphed into our version of a Facebook page and we are ok with that aspect.

Used Redframe decades ago to build it and I don't think they have kept up with the times.  Any suggestions for a better website building tool?  Of course it has to be photo oriented.  Not looking to sell photos or anything.   Any comments on the current one are welcome.

I've been using Adobe Portfolio for a while now and it does a decent job, and easy/ intuitive to use and allows for some organization of the albums, and it's free with the Photo package subscription.

My website is built with Jalbum, a web gallery builder that has many skins built to use with it.  It's mostly straight forward to use, just point it a folder structure and it can build a web gallery with any hierarchy you like.  The software has a licence fee which is not too high and a decent support forum.  I use the Mercury skin which uses a responsive layout which scales itself to match the device accessing it.

I recently reorganized by subject rather than by dive trip, except for a few recent big trips. Based on the pics that people usually want to see -- sharks, sea lions, turtles., etc.

Smugmug has some interesting gallery website examples on their homepage. I liked this example:

You can publish directly to a Smugmug site from Lightroom with their plug-in.
