Hi everyone,

after lurking in the shadows of Wetpixel for a while, I finally decided to create an account and join the fun.

My name is Marco, I’m based in Berlin, and I spend an unreasonable amount of time and money chasing tiny underwater aliens with a camera. Most of my diving is in Indonesia and the Philippines, and I’m especially obsessed with blackwater dives and anything with tentacles. If it glows, pulses, changes color, or looks like it escaped from another planet, I’m probably already in love with it.

And on the OM1, knowing you are also a 4/3rds shooter: No, I have only been doing stills so far. I will do vids one day though, I am close with Walter Marti and Mike Bartick and their vids are just breathtaking.

I have now been lured in by the temptation of full frame and the Nikon Z8. But the more I read here on waterpixels the last days the more I realised (again) what a great camera it actually is. The smaller size was just perfect for macro work and for chasing fast critters on Black Water dives. I will definitely miss it. Also I was super happy with the autofocus and the depth of field on Macro.
