Thank you @Dave_Hicks for your post. For me, photography is a pleasure just like sharing. Competitions are competition and personally I don't want them anymore. My photos like it or not... Those who enjoy them have a great time watching them, sometimes we discuss them. the others and although they go their way, I don't care.

For me, competitions are not very important. My main problem is the judges. I participated in a competition in 2022 for the Paris Diving Show. I didn't win anything but that's not the problem. It is in the results, the winners won but when I see the results it was not deserved. I'm not the only one to say this... There were so many photos that were significantly better. The criteria for designating the winners are I think other than the photos. This disgusts me deeply, it's not honest

The duration can be a problem... BUT only for low quality video. If it's nice to show I have no problems with 15 minutes or more. Otherwise also 30 sec is to much. 😉

Where did you see politic?

I'm using a Flashforge 5M Pro Realy happy with it. It's the second printer I had my first was 10 years... and the new 5M is really a other wolrd... speed quality etc... For me is the 5M a good choice then it is sheap (and good 😉 )

I ordered 2 of the new retra. Why? 1) the batterie 2) I want to try diving with 3 or 4 retra together to have a very large cover of the subject. It not allways possible to have a good exposure. I hope with 4 it will be easier to achieve that. I'm sad that the new retra come after my next trip... it will not be possible to make test before a long time 😞

Yes very important to take time for training before hollidays I have since 2 year the "old" Retra Pro with Powervault --> 8 AA x 2 😞 That's the reason I ordered the new one with only 2 Lithium bat in each strobe I had in 2023 a trip with problem with my trigger ( salt water on the pcb --> trigger batterie empty after 30 to 60 minutes... very frustrating I needed to replace the trigger. It's a Isotta trigger in a Isotta housing. I replaced it by Isotta and buy a new one to be able to replace it in case of the same problem appear an other time No EWNL ( it's realy to expensive, and probably not compatible with Isotta)

Hi I'm also an user of the Canon R5, since now 2 1/2 year. Verry happy of my setup. R5 + RF 100 + RF 14-35 RF 10-20 Isotta with dome and flat port 2 Retra strobe (and 2 new ordered) Nauticam SMC-1 and the new MFO-1 Hope you will have a lot of fun with your new R5... like I have

Same for me for the way back we stayed and will stay on a resort some days for diving. If my flight is cancelled I have time to take the internationale flight

I was in Halamhera this year. Mandao - Labuha with Lion Air I bought +15 KG to have 30 kg for the checked baggage. My backpack was more or less between 15 & 17 KG. No problem all was fine

For me No new gear I'm happy with my R5, I spent enough money in 2024 to need to spent again a lot in 2025 😄 New Strobe no no... already ordered 2 new retra to add to the 2 "old" retra pro max (hummm, 4 retra for wide angle shoot will be easy to have no dark zone 😉) Trip in 2025? already organized Raja Ampat was a dream will be reality in a short time and on the way back a week in Lembeh 🙂 New wet lens? no no already ordered (yesterday) the new Nauticam MFO-1 😉 2025 will be light the only one thing, missing for the moment is a trip for end of 2025, Ambon ? or ??? I really don't know where (good idea are welcome ) but for me 2025 will be the year of my 1000th dive in less as 11 years... 1000 dives....

I ordered from a web shop in France (with a shop in Paris) The status was "In stock" I hope it is. Delivery beetween the 30/12/2024 and 3/01/2025 Not sure it will be the case. But I have now 2 month left before the next trip...

Thanks for the link I discover the MFO-1 for the RF100... OK it's "only a 1,6x but the usage range is incredible. Did someone here allready test it ?

Hi @Davide DB , @TimG I started to read the article... I saw some wrong translations. Feel free to make changes if you see mistakes. I ve seen boulder instead of tank for the translation of bloc in french. It's ok but not in this context. Thanks Hugues
