Hi Fabian, I had a similar problem, but that was 10 years ago. After much consideration, we decided on acrylic because it best met the expectations of the doctor's office. Frames have the disadvantage that they have to be chosen very individually. Acrylic is also the easiest to hang. However, you have to be aware that when the exhibition is over, you will have to store some of these acrylic panels at home. When it comes to prints, I have had the best experience in Germany with “Meinfoto”.

AFAIK Nauticam is working on a dedicated housing for A7V. As the A7RV and the A7V are very similar but not identical in operating the Isotta-solution might be a compromise and not all functions are available.

I absolutely really like the whole video. Short enough not to step out early and long enough to get an good idea how it was there. The cleaner the went into the gills and the shark that had to check out very closely whether the lens is something to eat or not. Great! Can you tell something about the dive center and the location? Looks like quite cold water but impressive clear.

If your partner doesn't take photos themselves, the challenge for you is to take pictures with your partner in which they like themselves. Then the dive will remain harmonious. With macro photography, they could help with lighting or something similar.

It depends on the guides, I suppose. We`ve been there with different diving operators and all of them had no problem with strobes. But there's always much backscatter and the guests are sitting tight, and anyway you're only at a depth of 9m. Either use available light or try to position the strobe as far away and low as possible.

And the new 28-70 has the same minimal focus distance as the old one. Let’s see…

More importantly: will the A7 V fit into the A7 IV housing? I don’t think so, but at least there is some hope. As I use my camera not only below the surface, the precapture-option seems very interesting to me. And 4k60 without crop is a long desired feature.

I do own a 14" MacBook Air with 512GB and 8GB Ram. Even using LR CC is a mess, if you like to use AI denoise and Backscatter removal tool. Ai denoise takes often more than a minute, and switching over to photoshop and coming back ist a PITA. Go for the recommended machine. I think it's the adequate configuration.

I was able to get my hands on the aluminum Seafrogs housings over a year ago at the Boot trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany. They look like Nauticam clones, but they also come with a hefty price tag. Milling housing shells from a block of aluminum using CNC is certainly not a very complex process, especially when you have a proven model that you can copy 1:1. It will be interesting to see the long-term results. The question is really how well the seals, buttons, and surface will hold up in a few years. What I also couldn't tell is whether they were able to replicate such an excellently functioning and battery-saving vacuum system. In the end, it's like the cell phone market: with Apple, you pay extra for the entire ecosystem to be perfectly coordinated and thought out down to the last detail. The other providers have caught up considerably and sometimes work very well.

You stated that the Retra won’t work with the AOI flash trigger- but that refers only to TTL? So in manual mode it should work? And: what port do you use? Flat with WWL1B? Thanks for sharing!

There are so many photos that you don't linger over when you look through them a second time. Since wildlife photography, especially BIF, produces a lot of rejects, but also diving, my workflow is as follows: First, mark what might be okay on the camera and delete the rest. Then import them into Lightroom and mercilessly remove the images that don't tell a story at first glance. After processing, I take another critical look and reduce the number to 10-50 images per session. I edit them in the highest quality as jpegs and save them in Apple Photos. I only use Lightroom for processing/editing, not for storage. Therefore, with a few exceptions, I delete everything there.

I've always thought about pink dolphins, especially since a picture of them was among the winners of UPY. I looked around and found a few local providers, but also travel agencies. What worries me about Big Fish Expeditions is that I can only find a few reviews. Can anyone share their own experiences? I'm fully with you @RomiK . It depends on individual preferences and both solutions have their advantages. I seem to have the same priorities and I'll stay with the WACP-C.

I got the front glass of my WACP-C replaced by Nauticam. It was 700.- plus tax… annoying but worth the money.

A1 II, 90mm, Nauticam, Closeup Lens, 2x Retra Pro Max with Snoot, Video Light. Roughly 15+k€ But I think FF is not necessary, smaller sensors work in some aspects better in macro.

Regarding your question about swimming: that’s exactly what I’m using it for. Sperm whales and Humpbacks, dolphins, sharks. A GoPro is smaller but the WACP-C combination is a no-brainer with really good IQ

I do more freediving than scuba and really like the setup. It has a slightly negative buoyancy which I think is good. Being able to use the full zoom range helps very much. I used A7IV, 28-60 and WACP-C for the Mobulas. It is not the lightest one but other solutions might differ only by let’s say a few hundred grams. I like it. And you could sell the old port and the WWL.
