  1. I'd look at a used Nauticam or Aquatica housing for the Z6/7 I-II over a Ikelite personally. The consensus seems to be that you'll be using the EVF with an add-on viewfinder pretty soon if you are serious about using a mirrorless.
  2. In my experience the dome doesn't have anywhere near as much drag as the strobes and arms. Maybe because it rides within the bow-wave of the DPV? But also I'm using smaller than 180mm so far.
  3. Is there any sort of mounting point on the back of the monitor? Or I guess to short float arms to a triple clamp could work. Just trying to think of ways which then don't need even more flotation to compensate for.
  4. This is a situation where some sort of mount fabricated to fit on a rigid float arm might be an option, especially since the monitor is quite negative. How much freedom of movement do you need?
  5. Sounds like a good excuse to look for a smaller, less demanding rig!
  6. Left the cables very long but easy to stow under the bands I have on my arms. Found something in my junk drawer to get them attached to the housing as well.

I'm very much hoping to do a set for a set, but perhaps you'd sell?
  8. Looks like your current gear isn't holding you back!
  9. Still figuring out lengths and how I want to connect to the DSLR style connectors. Planning on working through that this afternoon.

I have two Nauticam long clamps looking to trade for two Nauticam triple clamps. I have either regular or the MP version and could trade either.
  11. I've received my Dave's cables kit, awesome amount of accessories included. Looking forward to setting it up.
  12. I suppose a question might be if a very high quality fisheye like the 8-15 used with a teleconverter and "defished" can produce similar IQ in the corners to an equivalent FOV rectilinear?
  13. I dive with someone using one with an XT5 and he has nothing but praise. Compared to the Salted housing I had there is no comparison. I'd be very tempted by one at a future date.
  14. What about lenses that are not well regarded above water such at the Tokina 10-17 which has quite a following for UW use?
  15. No DM arrived. I'm considering a redesign using magnets.
  16. The pressure pot could likely do a dome port but not a housing and port. It's also 80# and now in Victoria. The "cap" would be best designed as a hemisphere, not a flat shape.
  17. I just bought a large 10 bar pressure pot from a guy in Bellingham, then delivered it to a friend in Victoria. Would have fit almost anything. What about designing sealed end caps to allow pressure testing of parts off the camera?
  18. This is very exciting. Thinking about custom stuff like N100 down to N85 without adding extension to allow using ASP-C Sony lenses on FF for when I want a more compact setup. Or Nikonos adapters for cameras other than Sony. Basically the weird stuff few people want.
  19. In my experience shooting stills with the camera forward is very challenging, although a monitor or possibly angled eyepiece would help. The mount I designed has detents at 90 degree increments and has a toolless camera removal which works okay underwater.
  20. There are also the 3d printed fixed focus/aperture lenses using the optical components from disposable cameras.
  21. I have a 3D printable mount that has been tested up to ASPC sized cameras, I'd be willing to share the CAD file so long as you don't commercialize it.
