I've wondered if the BluRov hemispherical dome ports could be used to make a fisheye port. They are cheap enough and very robust.

Starting to get the hang of the 12mm. Curious to see if I can get better image quality from the 15mm. This lens definitely does what I wanted for low light wreck shots.

The MF60 is currently on sale on Amazon. I picked one up.

If looking at more budget friendly options I'd take one of the new aluminum Seafrogs over an Ikelite.

That's what I've been doing using my bathtub. It's just not very sharp compared to the 12mm which makes no sense since the universal opinion is the 15mm is a sharper lens. Shooting wide open I was able to confirm the markings match the focal length. I can perhaps do some longer range tests in a week or so although I'm likely just going to shooting the 12mm and look for 15mm in better shape. This one has some issues with the focus gear sticking.

Update: The 12mm is significantly sharper. Also focus peaking at least at close range is all but useless. I think it's likely my 15mm has some issues and I'll try to find another since I like it's perspective for wrecks. The 12mm in Super35/ASP-C is pretty similar although obviously a little distorted.

This is what I was trying to do. I just shot some tests in my bathtub and the focus marks do align with the focal distance at least at shorter distance. However what I'm seeing is that the lens itself just isn't very sharp and gets worse wide open. They aren't particularly expensive so I may just buy another and see. I'll dry things off and swap on the Sea&Sea 12mm to compare.

Did you focus on infinity for the in water tests? I shot the 15mm yesterday UW and using the focus guides everything should have been in focus but all the images were very soft.

Both can focus very close in air on both FF and ASPC. I haven't tried the 15mm underwater on FF, focus was kind of soft on ASP-C. I'll try it on FF tomorrow.

Well I made the big jump to an A7RIII with the 12mm, one dive in ambient light only. I think I may have camera position within the housing issues. Both lenses don't seem to focus particularly sharp or on infinity. Both will focus sharp but very close on land. Any thoughts from the brain trust?

I think you'll find these are taking a lot of cues from Marelux, possibly even the OEM.

As a cold water Sony shooter I prefer the ergonomics of the S&S (I'm on an original set of D2) vs the Z240 that I've also used. Mainly the manual pre flash cancel is easier to activate and the color change showing mode. I'd like to see some longer term reviews of the new strobe they just released and hopefully these D2s last until the durability on those is known.

There are 3D printing models for a simple zoom gear, which doesn't allow the macro function but otherwise works. I find with that lens using a diopter gets you similar performance to the macro function. It's just a little more work to juggle underwater. The port 29 is probably the simple option for your existing lenses.

Another option is the port 65 and 12-50ez, has to be at 14mm or so but a very good combo.

$500usd includes two batteries, charger and Olympus flash. Looks mint. Just not using it and perhaps someone knows an aspiring photographer who can.

Fantastic! Although I mostly scuba I also enjoy breath hold photography in kelp forests.

A buddy just got one for his XT4, not many companies doing Fuji housings. He's extremely impressed.

Even slightly older mirrorless are pretty cheap. If I could get $600 for this EM5MK2 and housing I'd be happy. Instead I think it'll become a loaner camera.

For not much more than servicing your existing housing you could probably get into a used mirrorless set-up, especially something M4/3. That would offer some of the versatility of the TG7 and stay fairly compact. You can also adapt Canon lenses fairly well. The used market cuts both ways in terms of value and so an older crop DSLR probably won't net you a ton, especially if it's overdue for a service.
