Just getting set up with mine— I’ll try and report back on the SMC-1 vs 1.4 TC question. One thing to consider on the TC side is that there is not yet a focus gear that works with the extension ring. I’ve heard there is enough interest to perhaps make one/adapt the existing one— but it is yet to be made available. @rainforest_UW Do you have the MFO-3, or any of the other underwater optics you’ve tested with your 90?

Oops, I meant to say N100 125 (plus perhaps the ER 30 for those adding the teleconverter. It would be for the Sony 100 macro.

Wow, thank you for the detailed reply @Davide DB ! I too had looked at Kyno but abandoned pursuing it further once I learned that it couldn't ready the sony XMP files to extract metadata. I've since solved that problem with Evrexpanse, which allows me to export a file which allows Resolve to read the metadata-- I'm wondering if that workaround will allow it to access the metadata. In the sony world I've also looked into their Catalyst Prepare/ browse software, but it isn't good for long term cataloging. @Davide DB Are you still using Kyno? I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on the software further, especially as it relates to the risks you mentioned above.

@Davide DB do you have a DAM you use, or any recommendations ?

Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS for sale. one small blemish on the side that does not affect performance. The lens has been recently serviced by Sony Pro Support and is in good working order. This gear has served me well after being purchased new from Reef Photo and video in 2020, and has been used almost exclusively in freshwater stream environments. N100 Flat port is in great shape with no hard water damage, or defects in the glass, and has a well taken care of o-ring seal. Focus Ring works as it should, and is very helpful for the use of DMF in-water. Price: $1,300 USD (excluding postage and transaction fees) Payment options: PayPal F&F or PayPal Goods & Services (+3%) or in-person transactions (located in the Pacific Northwest).
